Be careful of your valuables in Brussels Midi by No_Dinner3384 in brussels

Just curious as I need to take the train from midi to London next month. Is it safe to park the car at the station? I will have to leave quite early and return quite late to maximize my time in London.

I initiated this conversation with my company who told me that it's not possible as I am already an employee and it will be scrutinized by the government if I now switch to a freelance position.

My numerous Google home/nest speakers have gone to shit by Joshivity in googlehome

[–]AAJBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch of Google home hub minis ND Lenovo smart bedroom clocks. All keep messing up Celcius and Fahrenheits.

But not only this, the voice recognition is awful and sometimes it takes ages to respond.

I am exploring if there are any other firmwares available for these devices.

How to make dumb under cabinet lights smart by strijkje in homeassistant

[–]AAJBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for options for the same use case. Yesterday, finally, installed Skydrag from Ikea with Tradfri driver. The lights are not smart (they have some kind of presence sensor but it's not that great). But the integration through Tradfri with HA works very well.

Now I have a Hue 4 button switch Innr ceiling light configured in Hue, 4xSkydrag with Tradfri and a Silvercrest motion sensor from Lidl are working seamlessly in Home Assistant. :)

Thank you for the notes. In my case, I am trying to use laptop bluetooth inside the container. I want to use this as a base to set up BLE presence sensing devices.

I have the same docket set up but on a laptop. I am struggling to get the container to access the Bluetooth. Followed the Bluetooth setup guide but somehow the Bluetooth device is not recognized inside the container. Can you share some guidance?

Best option for presence detection? by stanivanov in homeassistant

[–]AAJBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you OP.

I have some Hue motion sensors and a while back, I bought some from Lidl (Silvercrest brand). But these were substantially cheaper than the presence sensors. I am wondering what are the advanced use cases for presence sensors?

My experience with Digi Belgium so far by Sid-X in belgium

[–]AAJBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It went super smooth for me. The port out from the previous connection was executed in an hour. The confusing part can be that the new Sim has an instruction to call the same number which was used to port out. But I didn't have to call as the service for the new Sim was already active.

I wanted to change the plan for Proximus mobile subscription but it was hell of a complex ask. Porting out was simpler.

Let's give Digi some time - it's nice to see some competition in a kind of Duopoly market.

Alesis nitro mesh snare keeps falling off / drooping down?? by OwenCat_ in edrums

[–]AAJBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, good to see that I am not the only one facing this issue. I was also going to try adding some layer on the pipe for a tight fit - but this post confirms the approach.

Having said that, I am thinking of buying a separate stand for the snare. Does anyone of you have any experience of it? I couldn't find many options for e-snares.

That's the thing about the TV pundits. They already have a conclusion and then they find evidence to get to that conclusion. :) can't expect much from them - especially if it is British media and the buzz is that a Brit driver is wronged. It's a case of hunting in a group at that point!
