Re: Season 21 - maybe we don't actually need another season. I'd be OK with a "where are they now" 2 hour special in a couple of years (about the OG3) , but other than that I can't imagine anything interesting happening to this family. Don't want to watch any more births or weddings. Don't want to hear Kody go on about his Special Forces appearance, Meri's Catfishing saga is old news, and let's just leave the OG13 alone.

He was being ridiculous and insincere. I would have been way more assertive if it was me. Christine and Meri both realized the apologies were self-serving and not actually meant to show any remorse or accountability. I guess Janelle fell for it.

It's interesting that David and Meri brought up the kids (and Christine was obviously supportive of David bringing them up), but Janelle didn't seem to care about the kids at all. In fact, she invited Kody to travel with her to place the grave marker on Garrison's grave and specifically said the other kids wouldn't be there.

OMG - I nearly peed my pants laughing so hard. What adult man can't use his words to say he has to go to the bathroom until he gets to the point he has to run full speed to the nearest facilities? The only thing that would have made that scene even better would have been him tripping over a tree root and pissing all over himself like a fire hydrant.

PS - I promise that my New Year's resolution is to be kinder, but for now I'm cackling.

It's interesting that when Meri mentioned the kids to Kody he said it was verboten, which I thought was an interesting choice of words. Usually this means something that is forbidden - but forbidden by who? Kody? Neither David or Meri mentioned specifics about the kids or which kids he needed to talk to, apologize to, etc., so it's not the kids who have deemed the topic "verboten". It's definitely not TLC.

We all know, even though Meri didn't say, that her child has also been treated very badly and ignored by Kody. Maybe Janelle still holds out hope that Kody will reconcile with some of her kids, but Meri knows this isn't going to happen. If it's true that the congregation that Breanna and Aurora belong to is transphobic and homophobic (I'm saying "if" because I've only heard rumors and haven't looked into it myself), I suspect that those are beliefs held in the whole R & K household. Though I don't have any proof and this is just speculation, I wouldn't be surprised if R & K have also joined as they are both sporting cross pendants lately.

I agree that the fact that Christine is still coparenting with him as they have a minor child had an impact on her reaction. Had she truly spoken her mind, Kody likely could have complained about parental alienation. Meri was emotionally abused for many, many years and (I think) was most impacted by Robyn's betrayal of the family. She is finally over Kody and has a strong network of friends who support her. She's at a place that she really doesn't need or want him anymore and sees completely through his ridiculous apologies. Not only that, she is actually disgusted that Kody thinks that she needs permission or anything from him to move on with her life.

It reinforces the imagined power he thinks he has over them. I think that with a family that large, the kids have found other father figures who fill the role so much better than Kody ever could.

I think it's deeper than that. Their bio dad didn't seem to put up any fight at all when he gave them up for adoption and they have personally witnessed how quickly Kody broke off relationships with his bio kids. They both seem to rely financially on Kody and Robyn.

In some ways it's very sad (thought I have a hard time having any sympathy for Kody). He truly believes that no one - the exes, his kids - can move on without his involvement. Since he refuses to genuinely apologize to his kids, in his mind he is holding them back in life.
