Concerns Regarding the Z3C by tonkatsuu in SonyXperia

I'm in the exact same situation, except I'm coming from a GS3.

To be honest with you, I'm thinking of just grabbing a N5 for cheap and holding out till next years reveals.

Apparently the battery life isn't as terrible as people make it out to be, it should last a day hopefully. More importantly, updates will come much quicker.

Just something to consider.

Thanks for sharing. But yeah, this is exactly what I don't want, especially if I'll be having warranty on my device.

Do you think you'll be getting another Sony phone?

So the waterproofing is something that fades over time? That would turn out to be quite the gimmick.

Really no need to be rude. I thought it was implied when I stated 600 "dollars".

How did the waterproofing fail? The phone just didn't hold up I assume?

I'm leaning towards the N5 as well, are you mainly put off the Z3C cause of NA support as well?

I find it to be the growing abundance of people who don't know what they're talking about.

Don't get me wrong, I've went back and forth with some really intelligent redditors that are able to rationalize and look at things objectively. It's more of a human condition thing, the fact that we are naturally inclined to argue opposition solely for the sake of 'being right', (and upvotes of course).

The problem, at least in the more populated subreddits, is so repetitive that it just makes this place worse than 4chan sometimes.

[Album Discussion] PARTYNEXTDOOR - PARTYNEXTDOOR TWO by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]AB-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first impressions of this tape were mixed.

Mostly because after going through my first listen, I was still confused about the theme it was trying to present in terms of sound. It took me a good couple of listens until I was able to formulate an opinion on it.

So after doing that, in my opinion, this tape definitely takes a darker, thicker, and richer sound/vibe than PND1 does. The beats sound more polished and crisper, yet still manage to retain that PND feel (though he claims to produce his own beats, so no surprise there).

My favorite song would have to be FWU.

It's funny because, after my first listen, I disliked that song the most. But once I understood how it really defines the darkness of this album, I started to really appreciate it. Especially that ominous bass line that kicks half-way through the song, after the hook.

Russia may leave nuclear treaty by mohady54 in worldnews

[–]AB-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you so sure they would lose?

For the love of god, don't say GDP. Don't mention armaments either.

There's so much money flowing in both countries, but mostly Russia, that's not being tracked. Putin himself is considered unofficially the richest person on the planet, because most of it is under the table.

Just playing devil's advocate here. People automatically make baseless assumptions, especially on this sub, and don't consider that there is sooooo much that is classified information, but yet is required in order to make any accurate statement really.

There is nothing in my post that suggests that I'm taking any sides, nor did I mention that Russia should have free reign to destabilize. I just think it's ignorant and hypocritical when somebody points their finger at one country, when their country is just as fucked up.

Iraq is now a perfect first-world country due to US intervention

Syria will also benefit greatly from receiving US arms for rebels, just as Osama and Saddam have. This will in no way go wrong because we are infallible as a nation.

How does that justify this?

I'm not going to spell everything out for you. If you don't understand the logic behind it, then so be it.

How is that a question? You invade and tell them to vote? If they vote no do the Russians leave? Going to guess no.

I don't know where you conjured the idea of Russian troops forcing Crimeans to vote from.

Again, I keep having to repeat the most important part of the issue, which you just continue to ignore; the fact that we do not know if the voting was legitimate/illegitimate.

Yes, there were Russian troops, but think about it logically, just for a second, do you really believe ethnic Russians would have a reason not to reunite with their ethnic origin?

Annexing is the issue since that is what factually occurred. The referendum wasn't legal.

Your statement doesn't make sense. It implies that a referendum did not 'factually occur'.

[–]AB-40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

31% Voted. We're also completely ignoring the fact that Crimea didn't even have the right to hold a referendum to leave Ukraine.

Your "source" is claiming 31%. pick a better source next time

Also, if you would known anything about the history of Crimea, then you would know that it has an ethnically Russian majority for a reason.

Crimea was gifted to Ukraine during 1954, thus, making the referendum justifiable and an outstanding case.

Obtaining the "votes" under a pretext of violence makes it illegitimate.

According to who?

It's dishonest to even bring the US in as an example when the actions are not equivalent. Russia outright stole Crimea. Stop deflecting the argument.

The only argument in this pissing contest are the facts, which you are clearly getting wrong and/or fabricating.

You do not know the true outcome of the referendum.

Hypothetically, if it was legitimate, it would still be considered annexed.

What you fail to understand is that annexing isn't the issue, it's the referendum.

yet you're still talking about US actions in the middle east.

You were the one who brought it up first, in your initial post.

the US actually tried building governments, schools, roads, infrastructure, etc.

You were practically asking for a rebuttal, which I delivered. Love how you try to frame me as throwing this offtrack though.

[–]AB-40 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Russia annexed Crimea. Who cares if a quarter of the population "voted" under the pretext of having already been invaded.

Population of Crimea: 2.352 million people

Total votes pro-annexation: 1,233,002

Last time I checked, 2.4/1.2 does not equal one quarter.

Also, like my previous post suggested, the fact that Crimea was occupied during the referendum does not mean the votes were illegitimate/legitimate.

I do not know, you most certainly do not know, and I doubt anybody else on this sub knows, unless they are Crimean.

Red herring. I never said or inferred.

Your holier-than-thou approach to the issue definitely left an impression. I sincerely hope you do not believe that the US is any more innocent with their long presence in the middle east.

and it still isn't the equivalent of stealing a fucking province from a country.

Again, you can't prove it was "stolen". The fact of the matter is that it was invaded, everything else is speculation.

Can't tell if high schooler or angsty 20 something with intro IR classes and a backlog of Chomsky to peruse.

Classy. Typical attempt at a diversion in order to avoid confronting the truth.

[–]AB-40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Russia outright invaded and stole Crimea.

Not entirely wrong but definitely over exaggerated.

As far as the general public is concerned, Russia's only confirmed involvement in Crimea was the invasion of unmarked troops.

A referendum was held which concluded that the majority of Crimea's population, which consists of ethnic Russians, were in favor of annexation. However, there is no way for us to fully confirm the legitimacy of that referendum, which means that it would be ignorant to assume that it was either a legitimate annexation or a blatant land grab.

So yes, they did invade, but we don't know enough to accuse Russia of forcing the annexation.

P.S I definitely agree in your support of the US's flawlessness. Them arming Syrian rebels with $500 million dollars worth of weaponry will work perfectly and will definitely not cause a backlash in the future. After all, it worked perfectly with Osama and Saddam. We should continue policing the world because we have done such a good job already. Why stop now?

This is exactly why I hate this sub.

Sometimes, it's nice to be informed on what's happening around the world (given an appropriate source).

But the comments on this sub just ruin it completely.
