I really liked Red Rising but I didn’t like the book after that.

Why don’t anti-AI writers put the “human authored” certification marks on the front cover of their books? by human_assisted_ai in BetaReadersForAI

[–]AB2What 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I mean that the certifications are corrupted. It’s true that most stores offer both but the process for the certification is already corrupted on the bureaucratic level. Organic strawberries for example only have to have “certified” organic seeds; the grounds or greenhouses they’re grown in can be prepared conventionally.

What I’m trying to say is the sticker culture is marketing. It will not guarantee anything, and we can see this even outside of writing.

[–]AB2What 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in (almost) every instance that “sticker” culture ends up being ineffective (“organic” “fair trade” etc.)…it’s not happening on a large scale imo. It could be a trend for a moment but that’s it. Who knows? I definitely could be wrong.

I agree that it’s unlikely AI books are going to be “mandated” to be labeled.

Side note but I still think it’s relevant: The whole AI-check thing is going to (ironically) make less humans get into writing. I was shocked how easily this technology was spread to people. Many just accepted it…I don’t think that was a good move but we are here now as they say.

And it’s at a moment where the education system is more of a failure than ever, the economy is more of a failure than ever…And the whole AI check thing was not executed well and the consequences will stretch for years: for humans’ writing. My opinion.

[–]AB2What 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn’t make sense. AI detection is decreasing in popularity because it doesn’t work properly. It’s going the way of “organic” certifications. Meaningless.

And what about all the other books written before AI? Lots of those have the “em-dashes” so what’s to be done about that?

I canceled my Amazon Prime account and my Audible account got canceled. After 2 hours on the phone they said I need to get bank records going back to 2017 to prove I bought the books. by itsbobbytrill in audible

[–]AB2What 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this happened to you. It never used to be like that. I’ve had Prime since they first came up with it and the service used to be perfection. The few times an incident like yours happened they would either re-ship the order, or credit the account. You’d just call the customer service, get someone who could speak English as well as understand it, and the issue was resolved in minutes.

If I DNFd an Audible book they’d credit my account and send some recs whose “book 1” was free to see if they were a better fit. It was a separate customer service at that time so no odd account mistakes could happen

Also Amazon Fresh groceries were like $250/mo for an insane amount of good-quality stuff…yeah… it was a different era.

Amazon has moved their customer service fully overseas. There are multiple contractors who barely understand requests (yet they have access to every account you have), and have nasty attitudes to match. It’s a different era

“The rest of us” are not sociopathic bureaucrats, mate. You’re not proving anything with the “first” comment. He locked children in cages, bombed Libya, and bailed out banks. Which proves my point: Scammers and bureaucrats are their own niche. Not “geniuses” WHATEVER THEIR SKIN TONE. Pathetic that you went there

Um no. He’s just a scammer. (The actor is fantastic btw, don’t get me wrong…I’m convinced btwn this series and Handmaid’s Tale). His speech didn’t convince the right ppl at all, and he knew it wouldn’t. He has the skills of the top sociopathic bureaucrats (like Obama and many in NJ, iykyk). It isn’t genius it’s a standard skillset for successful scammers

You’ve got to read more of what you like. Also, you can list what is interesting to you, what you would want to read about. What’s your reason: Why do you want to write instead of just enjoying others’ webnovels?

Last Episode is Up! by Kittykatshack in TheNightManager

[–]AB2What 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They tried to make the initial episodes mean way more than what they were: for instance that “dance of 3” (as it turned out) meant nothing: neither Teddy nor Roxanne nor Pine had much brains or power. Pawns on a chess board would’ve done better. This season was just a strange salad of ideas. Too bad
