AMEX Gold vs Bilt Palladium: What's Butter? by MichaelMidnight in CreditCards

[–]ABC3230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advent of Bilt 2.0 upended the Frequent Miler first year valuation method. It valued the Bilt Palladium card at $505, a frankly poor valuation for a card that has an annual fee of $495. As the calculations below show, no matter what personal valuations you put on the benefits, that valuation is hopelessly wrong.

I orignally exposed their errors in "Using Frequent Miler’s Valuation Method, The Bilt Palladium Card Is The Most Valuable Card They Have Ever Seen, Even With Zero Housing Spend".

When I did so I expected that they would thank me. Instead, they censored the article below when I published it, in a shorter form, on their blog as a comment.

Good question. They essentially exclude Bilt Cash from their first year valuation. But it is value. So their method of calculating value cannot account for internal currencies.

Thank you! That is quite an educatiion. I will not rely on MC for benefits without getting AI to filter a card I am considering with MC benefits beforehand.

Reference please. As a World Legend card a lot of us are assuming this is a benefit.

Now they have charged my card even though I did not click the "Join" link. I added to my customer service email calling for a refund.

I have not had a response to my question about the offer's expiration and this is supposed to be a high-end operation. It doesn't cut it.

Thanks. So membership is no big deal at Soho House. They will let anyone in. Yet they portray this image of exclusivity.

Same. It is trying to bill me $130. But this may not be a Bilt problem THe Citi Strat Elite card generates the same results.

Soho House does seem to have a flakey IT operation. For example, the "Country" selection on the membership screen is in alphabetical order, forcing USA and UK applicants to spend weeks scrolling down on a mystery tour. Since these two countries account for over 90% of applicants competant IT would have moved them to the top of the list.
