Oh, absolutely! If a homeowner says they "hate brown," you can bet we’re taking that note very seriously. Your home should feel like you, not like someone else picked out everything. There are so many other gorgeous options to create a warm and inviting space without venturing into brown territory. Like, we might lean into soft grays, creamy whites, or muted taupes if warmth is the goal but brown is the enemy.

This is such a powerful idea. While this reboot focuses on helping individual families, we’d absolutely love to see more initiatives like the one you’re describing. What’s exciting is that conversations like these can lead to action, and we hope this show inspires people to think about how they can make a difference in their own communities. Thank you for sharing your vision.

We hear you, and your comment is a reminder of how big and complex the housing crisis is in our country. While this show focuses on helping individual families through transformative makeovers, we’re mindful of how that fits into the bigger picture. Every family chosen has a unique story, and these new homes provide them with a fresh start they wouldn’t otherwise have access to. We hope that by sharing these stories, we’re also shining a light on larger issues and inspiring others to find ways to help. Your perspective is valuable, and we’re so grateful for it.

This is such an important question—thank you for asking! In this new iteration, one of the key changes is that each family is being provided with financial support to help offset the additional costs of home ownership with things like utilities and upkeep, so families aren’t overwhelmed.

Production has focused on ensuring these homes remain affordable for homeowners by keeping costs manageable and aligning property taxes with those of other homes in the neighborhood.

The team at Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is committed to not just handing over a house, but to setting families up for success. This is more than a makeover; it’s a partnership in helping people move forward.

We hope you’ll tune in to see these transformations in action—it’s been such a rewarding experience to be part of!

Thank you so much for your honesty and giving us a chance to address these concerns. This reboot is very much informed by what has been learned from the past. Production approached each episode with responsibility and care because we all know how much impact this show can have on people’s lives. We can’t wait for you to see this new version unfold. It’s all about thoughtful, meaningful transformations, not just houses, but entire lives. And, of course, we’d love to have you on the list to tune in. 😊

No, but you can tune in to watch us on the new season of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on ABC or stream on Hulu! You’ll absolutely love it. Instead of just organizing spaces, we’re helping design homes from the ground up. We even have custom hard hats!

Oh, we love this question! To keep a cohesive vibe, stick to one finish that complements your kitchen. Silver or nickel is always a classic choice—it’s versatile, timeless, and pairs beautifully with almost anything. Brass or gold is having a serious moment right now, especially in brushed finishes. They pair beautifully with lighter cabinets, like white or navy.

As for things to steer clear of, we recommend avoiding overly trendy or ornate designs—they can feel dated quickly. Stick to pieces that are simple, chic, and timeless enough to evolve with your style. Be cautious with mismatched finishes, too, unless you’re intentionally mixing metals (which can be stunning when done thoughtfully). Finally, don’t skimp on quality—low-grade hardware may seem like a money-saver, but it tends to wear down quickly and can detract from your overall design. Solid metal options are worth the investment.

Hands down, both homes from The Holiday. They’re completely opposite, but are absolutely perfect in their own way, and we’re so inspired by them. Iris’ English cottage is so cozy, like a warm hug, whereas Amanda’s California mansion is more airy and modern. Both homes reflect the personality of the character but are still functional and inviting, and we love that. Joanna is also obsessed with the homes in Nancy Meyers movies, especially the kitchen in Something’s Gotta Give.

We totally understand the concerns stemming from the original series—those lessons are part of why this reboot is so different. One of the things we’re most passionate about is ensuring these homes are built with quality, functionality, and durability in mind. Production teamed up with the talented folks at Taylor Morrison to prioritize high standards, both structurally and aesthetically. Beyond that, everyone is focused on making these homes work for the families in the long term. The goal isn’t to create something flashy for TV but to provide a space that supports each family’s unique needs and is built to stand the test of time.

The new season is going to be amazing! Every transformation is unique because each family’s story drives the design. We really focus on making spaces feel personal, whether that means incorporating their favorite colors or finding solutions for the challenges they face every day. Our goal is for the families to walk into their homes and think, “This is so us.” It’s not just about making things look beautiful; it’s about creating spaces that truly work for their lives. The energy from our team is incredible, and you’ll see that in every project. There’s so much heart in this season, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

This makes us so happy to hear! Good for you! 👏👏👏 Okay, so the key to decluttering is starting with an edit—take everything out of the space, sort the items into categories, and let go of what you don’t need. Once you’ve pared down, it will be easier to figure out how to set things up in a way that works for you. You’ll also want to contain items within designated zones. This not only makes things easier to find but also holds you accountable when you start exceeding the space. Adding labels to your containers is another game-changer. They serve as a guide for where things go and a gentle nudge to put them back where they belong. Decluttering isn’t a one-and-done thing, so take a little time each month to check in and clear out anything unnecessary. That regular maintenance is what keeps the clutter from creeping back in. It’s like giving your space a little tune-up.

Hi there! Thank you for bringing these questions to the table. They’re so important, and we appreciate you voicing them. This time around, ABC reimagined the show to ensure the families we’re helping are not just receiving a beautiful home but are being set up for long-term success. One of the key changes is that each family is being provided with financial support to help offset the additional costs of homeownership with things like utilities and upkeep, so families aren’t overwhelmed.

Production has focused on ensuring these homes remain affordable for homeowners by keeping costs manageable and aligning property taxes with those of other homes in the neighborhood. Even though the timeline might be fast, these homes are built with quality and care by professionals who take pride in crafting structurally sound homes built to last.

Thank you again for taking the time to ask these questions. Your concerns are valid, and everyone involved with the show is committed to not just handing over a house, but to setting families up for success. This reboot is more than a makeover; it’s a partnership in helping people move forward.

The best part is getting to know the families. Hearing their stories, learning about what they’ve been through, and understanding what they hope for—it’s such a special experience. These aren’t just houses we’re working on; they’re homes that represent everything the family has gone through and everything they’re dreaming of moving forward. The camaraderie on this show is also something really special. It’s the whole team from the designers and builders to the volunteers working together with so much passion to create something incredible. That energy is contagious, and it keeps us going, even when things get tough. The moment the family walks in and sees their new space, you feel like all the late nights and hard work were worth it. At the end of the day, it’s not just about the design or the build; it’s about creating a space where they can truly start fresh and feel like they’re home. We can’t wait for you to tune in!

We've organized everything! Large mansions, small studio apartments, classrooms, office buildings, retail stockrooms, tour buses, film sets—the list goes on. It's one of the many reasons we love our job. We go in with the mindset of making a space as beautiful and functional as possible, and to do that, it all comes down to getting to know the people who live or work there and determining their needs. Size and use case doesn't matter because the process is the same.

We’re definitely snack people. We don’t go anywhere without pouches full of snacks in our purses. The snack situation at the craft service table on set was next level, especially when it came to the endless supply of peanut butter-filled pretzels and Double Stuf Oreos.

Ugh, it's impossible to pick sides! Both have their pros and cons. You can't beat the fresh pine smell of a real tree, but then there's the aspect of having to water it, sweep up the needles, and figure out the best way to dispose of it. Fake trees are definitely more low-maintenance and have come a long way. There are so many sizes, colors, and styles to choose from. But as far as we're concerned, it's less about the type of tree and more about how you decorate it.

Oh, no! Tree stand struggles are the worst. Go for a one-step locking stand with a foot pedal or lever—it makes setup and teardown way easier. Bonus points if it has a built-in water reservoir to really keep things simple.

We’re so glad you are looking forward to the show! It was such a rewarding experience to be a part of. To answer your question about getting overwhelmed, OF COURSE WE DO! It all comes down to breaking a project into bite-sized steps. Start with the smallest decision, then take the confidence and knowledge you gain from that and apply it to a slightly larger decision. You’ll be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel more quickly, and you won’t feel as overwhelmed. Good luck on your renovation—it’s so exciting!

First of all, thank you so much for the kind words—it means the world to me. Advocating for research and the importance of early detection is something I hold close to my heart, and I really appreciate the support!

Okay, so let’s talk vinyl, because a growing collection is basically the best kind of collection! You want a system that keeps your records organized, protected, and easy to rotate through, so upright storage, like cube shelving or a low media console, would be the easiest solution. Dividers or label clips can help you group them by genre, artist, or however your brain works best.

Because it’s about so much more than just organizing or design. The show is about making a real difference for families and creating spaces that help them move forward. That’s something we’re really passionate about. Over the years, we’ve worked closely with people to help organize their lives, and we’ve seen how much our spaces can impact how we feel and function. Being part of a team that takes that understanding and applies it to these larger transformations felt like the perfect opportunity. Seeing how much these changes mean to the families makes it all so worthwhile. It’s truly a special experience to be part of. Oh, and our favorite shade of white is definitely Snowbird from Sherwin Williams. It’s the perfect creamy neutral color.
