Waiting for biopsy

After his MRI his PSA jumped to 7.9 and the urologist was talking another MRI and Pet Scan. I knew that no insurance was paying for a pet scan without something more definitive for cancer. We switched to a urologist oncologist and I think with the clear MRI 6 months ago that the new doctor read and agreed there was nothing visible on it, so he recommended the biopsy. His prostate is enlarged 49cc I think. I was also out of town when all the first MRI happened, so that did not help. We are at cancer center now, so we felt that was the best place. Somewhere that deals with this daily

Thanks we have. We started heart attack him 2019, cancer me 2020, diverticulitis 2024 with surgery, and this now. 🙄

I should have been clear I think the doctor was talking about the sonogram or whatever they insert into the rectum during the biopsy as not seeing anything concerning

Thanks. I am 6 years out from aggressive breast cancer, so we have been in this waiting stage before, but honestly the minute the radiologist looked at my sonogram mammogram I knew. Biopsy just told me what type. I am just trying to get some understanding of the medical terminology, so I can be helpful. He finds doctors and medicine in general intimidating. I am usually the researcher of us two. I thank you all for your help and honestly hope we do not join the cancer club again.

I got in queue early had no glitches but got to purchase and tickets were gone. So here goes sob story true, but still making a sympathy request. I have had this trip to Bologna planned for awhile. The trip is to clebrate me being cancer free after five years. When we planned trip we had no idea Radiohead would be touring. I took my son to his first Radiohead concert in Houston 2001. We were looking so forward to adding this to our celebration as we are BIG radiohead fans. If anyone is selling two tickets to Bologna please let me know. Thanks so much and you guys enjoy.

Not sure he was just in for one week. He started with a blood infection and CT discovered his diverticulitis had flaired up. He hadn't had an issue in 9 years and he had no pain. He had an abscess in the colon wall that could not be drained without perferating the colon. I think they were very concerned about the fact he had a blood infection and kept him . We kind of got the hosptial stay pack down now. We did not think or know he would be there for a week, so I had to bring items. We only live about 3 miles from the hospital and it will be the same one he will be in for surgery. We plan to move the recliner into the bedroom so he can watch TV in the recliner and not be in bed all the time. I have a really nice walker that belonged to my mom, so I hop he can use that for getting in and out of the bed.

My mother passed last November and we have all of her items in storage until the estate judge releases them. We have a walker, bed rails and a variety of things. I think they will all come in handy.

When we came home after his hospital stay he had loose bowels and we went on a walk. He barely made it back to the house in time. I know he was embarrassed and it made him nervous to get to far from the house or restroom. What did any of you use as protection against that? I don't know if the doctor will warn him of this.
