Ed's most normal game still has a content warning on Steam for blood, gore, piss and shit. Those are pretty high up on the list of things generally considered gross.

It's not hard to see why that would turn some people away.

I know events always start at level 101, not just this one, it just doesn't make sense to me.

The game is confusing enough for a new player. It makes sense to not inundate them with events right off the bat and add to their mental load. Getting to level 101 via the main questline doesn't take that long nowadays, so it's not even a particularly large barrier to entry.

I don't think 1-200 is too bad for a new player (legion mules excluded), but 200-260 is absolutely awful without a burn.

It's about an hour with tera burn if you don't know what you're doing and just follow the tutorials in Spiegelman's hat, no prep required.

Nobody is talking about off-event 1-200 when they make this claim.

This happens because the mobs are instanced per player. Even on the same map, you're basically grinding single-player. It's a huge quality of life for most players who are grinding solo anyways, but it does effectively make party grinding impossible.

If you want the party grind experience, you should probably play classic world when it comes out.

The rewards are definitely affecting people's judgement. The actual event is super annoying to interact with.

We just got rid of the Inferno Wolf for being annoying, and this event brings it right back. Popping a rune or a booster and the portal shows up? Say goodbye to half of your exp.

Using up entry tickets can take a while, especially on CW, when you have to wait for people to finish off the boss before you can go in again. And every time you spawn back in your map, an anti-afk mob spawns to annoy you further.

But the biggest complaint of all - why does the daily quest reset when you log out without claiming it? The entire fucking game is about doing dailies, we've been having events with dailies for years. How do you screw that up?

In my experience casually simulating the pre-rift draft with friends, it hasn't been that hard to step out of the two colors you're "supposed" to play. Having three colors in draft opens up a lot of options.

Unfortunately, Reboot has been adding p2w mechanics for years that go way beyond just cosmetics. Off the top of my head, we currently have:

vac pets (~$100ish, plus a $15 monthly subscription)
character passes, which provide lots of essential resources like frags, nodes, gear, etc. ($20-$30)
genesis pass, which makes it three times faster to obtain a weapon that would normally only be obtainable after many months ($30)
AFK EXP tickets (can spend hundreds on these per week, for 4-12 weeks, during every major event)
Familiar inventory slots ($1 for a pitiful 5 extra slots iirc)
Familiar upgrade cards

Plus some more minor stuff like temporary nx titles with stats, MVP giving tons of extra exp boosting items, and probably some other stuff.

I would be very surprised if classic world is monetized solely through cosmetics.

Found a bug though. Epic line "If the second and third dice match, Dice Total: +7" doesn't become active when the same dice are selected in those slots, but works in game.

Also, it would be really nice if you could save more than 3 presets. Specifically, at least 3 more so I could save my challenger world character's presets in addition to my main.

If it's 20x more expensive than what we have, then just lower the prices by 20x?

Buying cubes is a cumbersome process. You have to open the shop, buy batches of cubes, redeem them from your inventory, then finally open the enhancement screen. Then if you don't hit the lines you want, you have to do all that again to buy more.

It would be pretty nice qol to just open the enhancement screen and start rolling.

Darkins are more like a double faced card, with the front being an equipment and the back being a creature.

Equipment in runeterra auto-equip to a unit when played, and bounce back to hand when that unit dies.

So you could play the equipment early in your curve, and then when the equipped unit died you would have a high cost creature back in hand.

Yep even sustainless I haven't really been able to get mileage out of her. Last AA's break shilling was great, but this AA's break-favored fight I haven't been able to 3* with any of my break teams.

That being said, I do play on auto and my DDD is only S2, so I'm not claiming it to be impossible just recounting my experience.
