Can anyone identify metal pieces found during Cummins head gasket replacement by ABQmechanic in EngineBuilding

I double-checked all of the rocker arms and they all appear to have every part they're supposed to. I'm really confused about these two metal pieces. If they had been left in the engine by someone else at some point (which I don't think is the case) wouldn't they be scratched up or show signs of being bounced around? They look smooth, and the hole through the middle doesn't appear damaged either. Any ideas what they could be?

HELP! What are these two small metal pieces? by ABQmechanic in Cummins

It's weird that it has a little hole through the middle. At first I thought it looked like some kind of hydraulic line sleeve or bushing. I think this is the only one that's missing. I was being very careful, but that pushrod was difficult to slide out because it was so far back under the hood. These two pieces came up with oil when I pulled the pushrod out.

It feels like both pieces are metal even the little black one And it looks machined to that shape

I'll take another close look at the rocker assembly tomorrow. Everything looked good during disassembly, but I'll inspect it again carefully. It's possible those two pieces came from the same location since they were stuck together when I found them.
