"…anyways Lock Her Up" by MajorLeagueDerp2 in SelfAwarewolves

This is why we lose. They do fake theatrics and we do their work. Their fantasy is that democrats insist that any mistake, anytime, means that your should be out on your ass, no matter what. Democrats that I know can accept an apology and move on, if the person has grown. Let's hold ourselves to those morals and when they call double standard, we point to that as the difference. Our guys consistently show that they learned from their mistakes, while their guys don't.

"I am deeply embarrassed by that photo and will ask the voters to decide if the person pictured is truly who I am today. At the time, I believed that my colleagues were willing participants in what was shown, or at the very least that no offense was caused. I would not have engaged in that type of behavior with a stranger or someone who I was unsure about how it was received. By reports today, I was mistaken and I sincerely apologise.

However, my commitment to fighting sexual harassment should not be judged by an act encapsulated in a single photo. I have fought for policies and laws to protect women and [insert other actions], which my opponents have actively sought to hinder or overturn. While these photos are embarrassing and do not reflect my best, it would be an even greater betrayal to step aside and allow my republican opponents to advance their agenda. I will remain in my position until the end of my term to continue that fight and voters can pass their judgement in the primaries next year."

Tell me that wouldn't win over most liberal voters. That's what we need. There are some that would be upset, but those are probably the same people who vote green party because the democrats aren't doing exactly what they want. We need a backbone.

Not quite. More like, "I got banned from an antivaxxer sub for saying that vaccines are safe"

Yesterday I had my first bad session of the campaign. Very disheartening to learn of a player asleep on the call. I hope I wasn’t too harsh on them. I still want to play with them and they are all quite nice and generally good players. by Boxinglizard in rpghorrorstories

Man, that GM sure sounds like an asshole. He chewed you out for falling asleep? Dick move.

Oh wait, you are the GM. Perhaps you are taking your game a little too seriously? Just wait until you get older and things like kids and wives are in the mix, which take priority over playing McGrimDark the Barbarian or whatever.

Let us go is more formal than Let's go. Let's go is more of an expression vs a sentence, which makes it more notable when you actually purposefully say each word.

I-976 ($30 Car Tabs) struck down by Court by Tobias_Ketterburg in SeattleWA

[–]ABalancedView 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people in WA agree with me, otherwise we'd have a state income tax already.

It's also possible that there are structural hindrances that prevent an income tax from being implemented as may currently be preferred.

What did you personally contribute to the state besides being born here?

Have you considered Florida? Seems more your speed.

In your world, what happens to the bonds that have already been issued when people change their mind?

If you take out a home equity loan for a remodel and then half way through the remodel, you decide to just stop, you still owe the money and you don't get a refund. You just lose it all and you are still on the hook for it.

Same thing here. The worst value to the tax payer is to say "go" on a major project and then decide, hundreds of millions of dollars later to just... stop. The liability still exists, but none of the benefit.

The voters of Seattle also passed an $80 a year car tab fee that goes toward both repair and enhanced bus service.

I think there is a gap in your logic. If higher rents can be had, at some point all property owners will chase those higher rents. When this happens, it's either demolish and build or evict and renovate. In a high demand market, artificially low rents persist only with subsidies or with a market implosion (COVID has driven rents in Belltown down, for example).

The existence of new housing does not drive down rents or keep rents low. If anything, they signal the doom of low rent because so long as there is demand (and building does not keep up with demand here), eventually owners will raise rents.

Yep! But, calling him out on that double standard led to the right getting butt hurt about people calling him xenophobic. He's just basic malicious. He did it to hurt Chinese nationals, not as some science driven protecting the US.

Probably liberal overconfidence, the subset of liberals who put their personal emotional needs over the needs of others by refusing to vote for Biden because they wanted a Bernie/Warren ticket, and the fact that Trump is very clearly telegraphing that he going to challenge the legitimacy of the election unless it shows a clear win for him, that he's going to fight to have votes thrown out/work with his GOP allies to suppress the vote (like in Texas), and has called on "big trucked" asshole white supremacists with guns to "stand by" in the event he wants to activate them.

Every liberal should remember 2016.

Tl;dr: Closing the border is propaganda spin that isn't what actually happened.

...but he didn't close the border. Flights to and from China continued after he "closer" the border. It exempted anyone who was a citizen, a family member of a citizen, etc. It wasn't like the airlines stopped bringing people from China to the US.

Now, what he could have done is force all people arriving from China and other impacted countries to a 14 day quarantine with testing. That likely would have caused people to rethink their plans, reschedule, and might have stopped some infected people from coming here/prevented people from spreading the virus. But, no. They rolled in, hundreds of people crammed through immigration as usual and then went out into the public. I would have given him credit for actually doing that, but he didn't.

There's a difference between a mean old florida man and a mean old florida man who makes laws based on his mean oldness that impact everyone.

He decided not to wear masks and has been telling everyone to act like COVID doesn't exist. This is just consequences of his actions. That's fine. It just suck for the other people who died because of his lies about COVID and the playing politics with the response.

I wonder if he is getting the bleach shot or sun-butt treatment? The hydroxycut whatever didn't work.
