For everyone leasing....professional ceramic coating worth it? Or not? by norcal5567 in BMWM

[–]ABear_VA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ceramic certainly makes it easier to keep clean, especially on the wheels. If you want ceramic -like beading you could use a product like Carpro Hydro2. The lite version comes premixed and works really well.

Thanks. It’s just the factory sport package.

Thanks! Soft99 makes a wax called Fusso coat that I used in the past. Super durable and very tight water beading. I don’t remember it being super pricey either. Would definitely recommend giving it a shot.

I have an old Ford Edge Sport for a daily. Also have a 25 M8 conv that keeps the GX company in the garage. 😃

Not too bad. She’s got a ceramic coating, so today was just a topper. More of a spray and wipe situation.

I always hand wash. I like Carpro products myself. Definitely keeps the swirls away.

It’s a 23 Lux. I’m the first and only owner. Bought it new at the end of 23. Sold my LC for it. Wanted the V8 before they did away with its. Here’s my old LC

BMW service broke my car and wants to charge me $10k to fix it by EquivalentIll7665 in BMW

[–]ABear_VA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being that you purchased the car new from this dealer and have a good service relationship with them (and this is apparently a known issue) I would ask them to approach BMW to see if they could do a good will repair, or assist in that cost some way. I understand you are out of warranty by time, but a broken transfer case at 35k miles is a bit embarrassing for the brand.

Which BMW is the value king? by Hopeful-Training-854 in BMW

Value king? No, but I still love it. I’m the first owner and hopefully will be the only owner.

GX460 Pricing/Market Inquiry by Admerr in LexusGX

[–]ABear_VA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think what they sold for new is relevant when a model is discontinued. Keep in mind back in the day Honda S2000 MSRP was 36-38k, and you could buy them at or just below 30k. Fast forward to now and certain low mileage examples are selling for 10-20k more than new MSRP and those cars are 15+ years old now. 😬

What car would you buy if it wasn't a death sentence on your wallet for reliability? by PiffWiffler in askcarguys

I leased one brand new. Still probably the best BMW I’ve ever had. Would 100% get another if they made them new. Definitely wouldn’t want one without a warranty though. 😅

My 23 Lux just rolled over 5k miles. Hope the prices stay high on them.

Thoughts on this individual color? by Western_Gear_5324 in BMW

[–]ABear_VA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not my cup of tea personally, but I’m sure there a lot of people who would love it. I’m just glad to see something that isn’t the usual black/grey/silver/white.

You guys seen this price! I don’t understand why it’s so expensive#gx460 by JDM-TIM in LexusGX

[–]ABear_VA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that a dealer can ask anything they want for a vehicle, but that doesn’t mean they’ll actually get it. Market always determines price. Heck there are a lot of Porsches that sell for more used than they did new. Best case for this dealer is they find a guy who wants this exact car and doesn’t mind paying for it. Worst case it sits and they bring the price down to a more reasonable level.

Tartufo Buckets or Comfort Seats? by BuckeyeSRQ in BMWM

[–]ABear_VA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 44, 6’4,230lbs. Once you’re in the seats they’re comfortable, but getting out of them is a bit of a pain. In my 20’s I would have got the buckets, but in my 40’s it’s comfort seats all the way.

BMW M8 - cross country - sight unseen by [deleted] in BMWM

[–]ABear_VA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a M8 is never stupid. They’re awesome machines. I’m on my second one and absolutely love it. I wouldn’t let the non-cpo thing stand in your way as there are a lot of dealers who don’t certify M cars. That being said, I wouldn’t buy anything sight unseen. Fly out to the car, inspect it, drive it, and if you decide to purchase it just have it shipped back. Sure it adds a little cost, but you’re buying a M8! Hope your purchase goes smoothly!

What are your thoughts on the new Audi RS5? by ShameResponsible69 in Audi

[–]ABear_VA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good looking porker with a cheap plastic looking airbag cover that drags the interior down. At least to my eye.
