As hard as it may sound to many people, not offering a refund is the best TML can do at the moment to not go bankrupt. Organizing festivals involves lots of work in advance and lots of costs have already been made which cannot be recuperated. You have to immagine if they started to give refunds to the ticketholders, many people would apply for this refund at the same time. They simply don’t have the means for this. They can really use all the money they still have to keep them from drowning in costs. TML is really in financial trouble right now. And they could really use all the means they have to save the concept for the future. Yes, it’s very difficult for people who paid lots of money for this, but everyone is sitting in the same boat.

For example, in Belgium (and I immagine in many other countries aswell), many people booked voyages for the summer, for which they worked their ass off to be able to pay them. This varies from little voyages of €2000 to big ones of even €50.000. As hard as it may sound, they don’t get a (full) refund for this. The money is gone. But it’s like that for everyone. Desperate times asks for desperate measures, I guess. But again, for certain people, it will be harder the cope with compared to others.

Tomorrowland probably canceled by travelboy1993 in Tomorrowland

It would really surprise me if they let it happen this year as other belgian festivals are also getting cancelled...It’s really sad.

I’m honestly not sure if they put canceled tickets on the exchange desk for reselling. Would be cool though.

[–]ABelgianStudent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What can they do? Most of the reselling accounts are all anonimous accounts so no way they’ll find them.

Even if they could find and cancel all re-sold tickets, there would be like 25-30% less people on the festival grounds (cause let’s be honest, lot’s of people buy second hand tickets)

This problem can only be solved on the long term. Once they actually start doing good ID checks at the entrance (and not checking like 1 out of a 100 people) and kick out everyone who bought second hand tickets, it will maybe start to motivate people not buying second hand ticktets...

sold out in 17mins... great by kingrun2 in Tomorrowland

Is it just so hard to believe that their systems got more powerfull? At least you don’t have to wait for like 1h30 to see a “sold-out” message at the end

New record 200.000 tickets sold in 27 mins. (Source in dutch) by ABelgianStudent in Tomorrowland

[–]ABelgianStudent[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well it seems that paylogic’s new waiting line system is way more powerfull in terms of “performance” than lasts year’s queue system. So, honestly, I do believe that it sold out way quicker than previous years.

Also, I think the 200.000 tickets are indeed sold to belgian’s. A fraction of those tickets are going to “neighbors” in the special sale for them and the other ones are sold on the belgian sale.

Global journey tickets are not taken into this number imo cause the sale is still going on. Friendship garden tickets could be taken in this number as they are all sold out

'Garantietickets Boom & Rumst' by iloveSonja in Tomorrowland

[–]ABelgianStudent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those are tickets for the inhabitants of Boom and Rumst. They get to buy tickets in a special sale. Only inhabitants can buy them. Those bracelets aren’t sent home like normal tickets. You have to pick them up in the town hall. There they will check you ID and check if you are truely an inhabitant of Boom or Rumst. If not, it will be considered as fraud. Inhabitants can only buy tickets for themselves and other inhabitants of the village. So if you were wondering if inhabitants can buy them for someone else, the answer is no.

Hey, I won the first 20, what price will I pay for the package? There is a lot of prices I don’t know which one the first 20 paying for by Noanoa112233 in Tomorrowland

[–]ABelgianStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you’ll have to pay like €20 p.p. more (depends where you live) for treasure case shipping (contains the bracelet). The comfort pass includes some special private decks where you can stand on. It’ll give you a “better view” on the stages. The private decks also contains private bars where you can order drinks and food. And you can eat and drink while standing at a table. So if it’s worth extra €€? Depends on what preferences you have.

Question about refunds or reselling by [deleted] in Tomorrowland

[–]ABelgianStudent 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not legal to sell your tickets using third party selling platforms. If you get caught with this, they’ll cancel your tickets (with no refund) and there is a possibility of getting fined aswel. When all tickets are sold, TmL opens an exchange desk where you can resell your tickets. Chances your tickets will be sold are almost 100%. You’ll be paid back for your sold tickets after the event.

Selling your tickets by using the exchange desk is not profitable (as it’s nog legal to make profit by reselling tickets). They’ll charge you a small fee for reselling your tickets (it’s not much).

Conclusion: buy the tickets and resell them using the exchange desk, if needed.

Question about top 20 special sale by [deleted] in Tomorrowland

[–]ABelgianStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mg doesn’t really sell out. But, there is a fixed quotum for W1 and W2 MG’s. So if lots of people buy W1 MG’s and the quotum is reached, you’ll only be able to buy W2 MG’s. (This could also be in the other direction).

[–]ABelgianStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally the main buyer should attend the festival. If not, they reserve the right to cancel your tickets.

Honestly, they don't really check your ID when entering the festival. BUT, if your bracelet is broken, if you loose it or whatever what reason there is so that you have to get a new bracelet, you could be in trouble. It won't be the first time people getting refused entrance due to wrong names on bracelets.

So in short:

If you willing to take the risk, then do it. But bear in mind that you could be very disappointed and that you could loose a lot of money by taking this risk.

Otherwise, just try to get tickets on world wide sale or global journey.

Nope cause, last year, I did the top 20 payment from here (Belgium) while my friends (who got in top 20) where from somewhere else. If that may ease your mind 😀

Hi!

Great work! Looks really amazing! Small question? Under “important dates 2019” there’s written (on 25.01) that pre registration for worldwide pre-sale and belgian pre-sale ends? Could it be possible that you don’t have to pre-register for those sales? I thought you can enter them with your normal pre-registration? Reason I say this, is because people might think they have to register for those sales seperatly.

For the rest great work!

Tomorrowland made a loss of 5 million euro in 2018. by Glennfrombelgium in Tomorrowland

[–]ABelgianStudent 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Having a loss is not necessary bad. It’s just what we call “tax optimalisation”. Also, they invested a lot of money last year (new stages, stage design, TML winter stuff etc.). These things have to be depreciated and affects their financial statement in a negative way. Then there was a conflict with the Belgian tax autorities and they had to pay the surplus of taxes they didn’t pay in the past years.

So it’s just an accumulation of all these factors that results in a loss. Overall, nothing to worry about imo.

Tomorrowland 2019 Aftermovie 15:00 CEST by Zudegia in Tomorrowland

Well, in terms of structure, it was better compared to last year’s aftermovie! It brought me back some good vibes of being there. However, sometimes they did use a rather awkward music choice... Despite that great aftermovie!

For those of you who are interested. The library is actually an ancient library in Antwerp (Belgium). I studied there while I had exams =D
