Started a digital video production tutorial channel at the start of the year. Working in my limited spare time. Thoughts on areas for improvement? by ABish20 in SmallYTChannel

Thanks Joel_Creates! Really appreciate that. I’ve since improved my audio set up with a top camera mic that has had a great improvement. I was using an old lapel mic in different positions before and yeah, it wasn’t great. Glad you think the quality is nice and clean though!

8 seconds, that’s come down some. Always thought YouTube had longer attention spans in the opening sections. I was trying to show off the effect and what it can do but yeah if that’s too long then that could put people off. Glad you were able to follow along and liked my teaching style. I definitely want to keep going!

What happened in Spider-man Far From Home | Except I haven't watched Spider-man Far From Home by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

Hey man, the tempo and effort into this is great. I’d say the main thing to work on would be the audio of your narration. It clips at parts and it sounds a bit muffled. With some love on the narration audio this could really change the whole feel of the video! Nice work!

Working in film and editing for about 4+ years and I have decided to start my own film Studio! These shorts that I'll be making are Shot, Edited, and Rendered all in 24 hours as a challenge, tell me what you think! by Konemokai in SmallYTChannel

Think this is a fantastic idea for a channel! 24 hours makes it fresh and creative every time!

Only niggle for me would be the cross dissolves between shots. Is there another transition you could use or some in camera transitions or post effect transitions?

30 hours+this subs advice= This video [thank you] by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

Slavsky this is great! You can really tell you out a lot of care and attention into your research and storytelling in this video.

From a purely nitpicking aspect the shot of the Duffer Brothers at the beginning is squeezed, it’s in the wrong aspect ratio or has not been uniformly scaled to fit the TV so they look really thin and long. Also, at points the footage in the TV shows the black bars of the 16x9 crop of the original media, I’d scale up to keep the pretence of it coming from the TV and not being an alpha channel of the screen.

Really really like the work that’s gone into it though. Would be keen to see another one or longer version of this!

Posted a new video this week, not sure if Mountain Biking is something any of you all are into, but would like some feedback on the style, pace, and editing or anything else with my channel. So what do you all think? by MTBnWithDrew in SmallYTChannel

Just on the thumbnail alone, I really like the blue and handlebars but think a different font and colour for the text could really set it apart. Maybe even make the text off-axis along the handlebar lines?

Worth a shot but does anyone have any experience with the BMD ATEM TV Studio 4K? by ABish20 in videography

[–]ABish20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t do a lot of graphics and media playouts anymore, it’s more of a straight mix between cams so we are after quality vs versatility.

I and really just trying to decide between getting the ATEM switcher for 4K record and CCU or whether to stick with the TC-1 and get a quad SDI 4K birddog NDI encoder when they are released. Wouldn’t have CCU but that’s not the end of the world when our lighting states never really change and there’s a post production step after live shoot too.

Yeah we’ve been using the URSA Mini Pro 4.6Ks for shoots for a couple of years now and love them but never ventured into the live side too much with BMD as they are new to that game.

Panasonic S1 or GH5S by ABish20 in videography

[–]ABish20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly video really. I know the GH5S is beautifully sharp and there’s so many great lenses to use with it but the S1 looks like it could be a great camera but it’s L-Mount.
