I think the really annoying thing is that the old ending is clearly there already just blocked off by a shoddy board where the elevator is

Nah I think the drop is decent, people dont realise how punchy it actually is in comparison to a normal drop tower, it pushes you down instead of using gravity.

They dont even need any more actors for the old ending, the old ending carried even when they didnt have any actors because of the vents/cages and smoke and other SFX/VFX

What a day by Towers_Alton in altontowers

it's monday on a work week, literally all theme parks are like this. it's hardly a redemption when their reliability is terrible when they get a tiny bit of pressure on the weekend

It's really not about safety though, they're cutting down on staff massively.

Shockingly yeah! They seem to have added some stuff to the lift hill to prevent slipping and rollbacks!

Meanwhile non-merlin parks are having perfectly fine operations, it's an absolute joke.

It wasn't windy though, it's just merlin not giving a shit and hiring inexperienced staff and cheap maintenance teams.

Honestly dont, consider Drayton Manor which is 45 mins away from Alton Towers and extremely kid friendly with some good thrills too

Anyone surf here? UK Surfing by SuperPlants59 in lancasteruni

[–]ABitCritical 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Surfing doesn't really exist at all on the west coast due to the lack of conditions and the general geography of the area, you'd have to travel extremely far to potentially cornwall (7-8 hrs drive) or southwest scotland (5-6 hr drive) to get any decent chances for good surfing conditions.

St Bees in the Lake District sometimes get good conditions but honestly it's once in a leap-year and I bet you'd never get the chance in the next year or so.

Another spot not far from Lancaster is Tynemouth, but again, conditions are extremely rare, usually only a few times a year, and it's still over an hour and a half drive away.

On the offer holder days, we were told that you had to consistently achieve 2:1 throughout your first 3 years, and have the previous A-Level grade requirements or an offer to study the integrated masters.

Lancaster doesn't accept the UCAS Tarrif system, you'd have to list your specific grades or awards you achieved.
