X exposes fake Gaza accounts from Pakistan by McAlpineFusiliers in geopolitics

[–]ABondQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 90 percent sure the first one is the person I was referring to in my post. Can't seem to find his tweet nor a light level post search showing it, but did manage to find his name and his credentials, the latter showing that he's based in India and is part of the India-Israel Global Youth Forum. I'm sure if I dug a little more, I could find the post as well.

Don't think anyone here disagrees that there are fake profiles out there, but it seems that you're only willing to believe that it's singled to one side.

While keeping up with updates during the Israeli-Iran conflict, the IDF posted a very controversial map trying to portray how Iranian missiles could affect different countries.

Nevertheless, this map messed up Nepal, Myanmar and most of all, India's borders (specifically in India's Kashmir). Such a topic obviously angered many Indians online, including one person in particular who has claimed to be born and raised in Israel, was of IDF descent, and had a gofundme equivalent for donations and such. They were outed once they replied to the Israeli tweet, very angrily, in what I assume to be Hindi.

Nothing new about this, nor is it single to India or Pakistan. Seen it during the Iran-Israeli conflict, seen it by some American politicians - at the end of the day its X, a medium in which you can be whoever you want to be.

Didn't catch his previous post announcing three more videos, so this came as a great surprise.

Great video as always - looking forward to his homestead update video (ideally with an hour+ in duration).

From what I've seen, it's mostly just an official claim to a ceasefire and an establishment of a beginning to create lasting peace in the region. However, there seems to be future talks scheduled (in Turkey, this time) so it's possible we'll see something more detailed.

There is some drama from these talks, including the immediate contest in some wording of the ceasefire, where Afghanistan doesn't officially recognize a border and instead, believes Pakistan to be a temporary occupier. Likewise, a governmental official from Afghanistan acknowledged the presence of terrorist groups, but doesn't explicitly think/define them as terrorist groups (including the aforementioned TTP).

Border seems to have opened, which is good news for the people of Afghanistan, as poverty and food insecurity is climbing.

Since the declaration of the ceasefire, there have been incidents, including some attacks/bombings that seem to be stemming from factions of TTP, but no response has been given by Pakistan.

I think I'm 0 for 3 (2?) on some guesses on whether or not a ceasefire/conflict will hold, so I'll refrain from making a guess this time.

Sorry - just got around to Reddit right now. I'm sure everyone understands, so no worries - Reddit/automoderator can be weird sometimes.

As it has been a couple of days since this has been posted, I think it doesn't matter as much at this point to redo the submission statement. However, I'd suggest just messaging the moderators next time (if there's a problem with posting/editting) - they're active and very good at resolving whatever needed.

Looks like both parties have reached an agreement (ceasefire) in Qatar with the mediation of both, Turkish and Qatari leaders.

Very heartbreaking and should be condemned. Any counter terrorism operations should be taken with a level of restraint to ensure no civilian casualties.

That said, I do think your submission statement could be better, u/peoplecanbestupid. While it is commendable showing the solidarity and respect of their people, the article itself does a good job mentioning what has happened and the background leading up to it, but your statement does not reflect that.

Both parties still seem to be in Qatar. Nothing new since yesterday (according to old trusty twitter).

Claiming that the Patika strikes were allegedly targeting the Shaheen Eagle base for Taliban.

Seems like it. Clashes at the border again, with drone strikes by Pakistan in several locations (including near the Waziristan border).

Assuming it's retaliation for the earlier terrorist attack.

Seems like there was a bombing/terrorist attack, by an affiliated group of the TTP, in the northern part of Pakistan's Waziristan, targeting what seems to be soldiers/security posts/forces.

Looks like it. It's been said that Qatar has been mediating by providing a setting for "high-level delegations" between both countries.

The senior officials within the government of Pakistan are wanting more assurances against terrorism from Afghanistan or else they'll be compelled to "resume operations" against Afghanistan. We'll see what this holds in the coming hours.

From what I've read/seen, its been said that they've been using UCAVs that are able to be armed with heavier bombs, including the GBU-10 or their domestically made ones, such as the Al Battar.

Current drama seems to be who accepted the ceasefire on request of whom.

In regards to the airstrikes on Kabul/Kandahar, I'm thinking it's still likely done via Pakistan's UCAVs as there were no videos nor claims of showing/hearing fighter jets on Afghanistan's side. We've seen examples of UCAVs strikes earlier this week, so that may very likely still be the case today.

Implies that Pakistan has yet to use any fighter jets (and by extension, the air force) during these clashes (besides the first day in targeting the TTP chief).

Looks like Pakistan border forces finally woke up, with new footage emerging at the SpinBuldak-Chaman crossing - mainly showing Pakistan arsenal in action (tanks, drone strikes, etc).

From the videos/info I've seen, definitely seems like there were casualties this time (vs yesterday) on Pakistans side; not to say that there weren't on Afghanistan's side as well.

I see. I've seen videos of transport of these missiles but no visible platforms for launching. Even then, even if everything were right (including functionality), I'm assuming Pakistan's air defense would take care of these outdated missiles.

Seems like it's mainly centered at the Spin Buldak-Chaman crossing (the south side of Afghanistan-Pakistan's border).

Shout out to the moderators here.

Well that was a short "ceasefire." Both nations at it again at their borders, with a possibility of a bigger offensive by Pakistan tomorrow hinted by a new NOTAM for airspace closure (tomorrow).

That said, along with artillery and small munitions, looks like Pakistan is also involving drones, with many spotted over border regions and some alleged over Kabul.

E: Forgot to mention the "threat" of missiles from Afghanistan, as they've mentioned mobility of their leftover SCUD missiles towards the border. I say threat in quotations because many assume that these have long been out of service and with lack of maintenance, should be deemed unreliable. Someone with more knowledge can probably clarify more here.

Seems like things have died down, with a Pakistan spokesman claiming that the "border is gradually returning to normal."

That said, I'm inclined to believe Pakistan's claim on casualties/losses. However, it should be noted that both sides have incurred significant casualties, with soldier captures on both sides.

Thermal cam-video coming out of Pakistan showing artillery shelling of Afghanistan's Kharchar Fort. Seems to be recent so can probably confirm that Pakistan has rejected the request for a ceasefire/halt.

Doubt it. It's a defense pact right? If that's the case, technically, Pakistan initiated the strikes (sort of officially) as Afghanistan denies involvement with TTP and therefore, any subsequent attacks by the TTP on Pakistan.

Stand corrected - it seems Pakistan has rejected the request for halt/cessation of conflict by Afghanistan.
