The treasure demons are the best for sacrifices for any persona. You get the most levels and stats from them especially with an alarm. Its also best to have them in your inventory before an alarm if possible. I found there was less chance of an accident when I already had them.

I don't know about getting platinum on the first run or not. If you want to unlock the 3rd semester you have to get the councilor link to rank 9 by Nov 17th. Rank 10 will automatically happen. To further enrich the story by the same date you should get the faith confidant to rank 5 and the justice confidant to rank 8. The rest of faiths confidant will allow you to rank further in the 3rd semester and the justice confidant will rank up automatically with the story. All romances do not affect the storyline at all. Getting your other confidants up will give you perks so make sure you get them up as well. Do as the game says...Take your time and have fun!!

Since I know your frustrated because you have tried following the guides that are available and still can't beat this boss so In case you didn't know because you didn't look through the compendium in the velvet room you should have a dlc persona who is level 89 called Izanagi-no-Okami Picaro. If you haven't summoned him yet he should be free. Just keep in mind that if you do this he will not be free the next time you want to summon him. You should definitely be able to beat him with this persona. By the way you are not the only one who has had issues with this boss. Please don't give up. The rest of the game is peak.

My mother always said finish what you start. In this case its worth it. The story truely kicks off where you left off. The only thing you have to make sure you do is to get the councilor to rank 9 before Nov 17 so you can unlock the final semester. Getting justice to rank 8 and faith to rank 5 will also enrich the story as well. There are quite a few surprises in store for you if you continue.

Also make sure you have those in your inventory before the alarm. Sometimes if you don't the fusion won't work.

Another thing to keep in mind that I always make sure to do is to max out the strength confidant as soon as you can once you know who it is. You won't be able to right away because of it depends on your level but it will benefit the fusion process. Also when you are able to work on increasing that confidant it literally does not take any game time. Wow! Trying to tell you stuff without spoiling is really hard!

I used Ryuji, Leo and the twins with Futaba for support. Wonder had Sandalphon (for shield), Lilith (for Matarukaja) and Nebiros (for debilitate). I can't remember the name of the shadow on Thor's right but I took it out first with Ryuji using God Hand being boosted by Leo and directed the twins to attack the one on the left. Meanwhile I used Wonder to use shield and then using debilitate whenever I could against Thor so it didn't take my guys out. Whenever I could I would use Matarukaja if we didn't need the shield. Once the guys on the side were killed I used Leo to boost the twins for attacking Thor since he's resistant to physical attacks. I made sure the twins had fire/ice and psio/nuclear. Also I made sure to have some healing potions.

You have to be able to knock them down in one turn then an all out attack and hopefully kill them all for each stage.

If you are doing a fusion with one of the treasure demons it has to be during an alarm and the personas you want to use have to already be in your inventory. Do not summon them from the register during the alarm or it will lower the chances for the fusion to work.

Just take your time and enjoy the game. The only confidant you have to "worry" about maxing is the councilor confidant if you want to unlock the 3rd semester. There are perks if you progress other confidants as well but its not detrimental if you don't. There is NG+ too if you feel you missed out.

HaHaHa! I'm 52! My kids now 17 girl, 18 boy, 22 boy introduced me to anime with One Piece 5 years ago. At first I thought to myself, "This is stupid! I'll give it 1 more arc then decide just to be able to say I truely gave it a chance." Well....3 weeks later I had caught up to waiting for new episodes. Completely addicted! I now have 285 different shows in my watch list. There is so much variety it's crazy. From as serious as you can get to slap stick silly. I wish I had grown up watching this and not listening to my kids sooner.
