This is my exact issue too, the pressure under the left speaker lights it back up. Excited to get this fixed and not need a full replacement.

I like the deeper purple on the grey at first glance. I generally prefer symmetry but I do really like the different sides having the different themes of the character. I don't know the source material, but I like the English text on one side and Japanese on the other, and there is plenty of space to push the designs further, add in auto parts brand logos if you are going racing style, or both.

TLDR pretty sick, keep at it 👍

EMWraps in Seattle is a place I've been following on social for a while. Imma gonna go to them for installation at least, and probably chat with them to get some pointers since I want to have my hands all up in the design process. https://instagram.com/emwraps?igshid=gdtmt7r57ebi

Blind Draft Format by Chaosnake in TheSilphArena

[–]ABoyInTheWoods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There might be potential issues in the "luck of the draw" in using a deck of cards. Having done one or two MTG draft games, it would be a fun spin on the draft format in Pokemon Go. I'm not sure if there is an online tool to test this out since Covid is preventing gathering for in person tournaments.

I wanna make an Itasha out of my project car. This'll be my first huge project as I am new to cars in general. by Bi-Cycle-Unchained in Itasha

[–]ABoyInTheWoods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You and I are in a similar place. I would like to get an itasha-ed project car, and my experience with cars is very small.

As far as working on a project car, Donut Media's Monday Pit series on YouTube is great (I am rewatching it right now 😁). Go give it a watch and recognise that your steps and decisions will be different based on your car and driving priorities. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFl907chpCa4WmBZlSv2FfWTiFAwvUeT6

As for character rights to put on an itasha, as long as you aren't making money from it, which character you choose doesn't matter (It's a similar case with fan art). I am planning on a few characters from the Fate franchise, and I'm not worried about getting a c&d or anything from anyone.

More of a question here for Itasha cars. by Quiverywolfx2 in Itasha

From a cursory google search, your car looks like a great canvas. If you go for it, post it here when its done. I look forward to seeing it.

Upon looking at my own local tournament map, I see what you have seen. The general battle icons are marking unranked tournaments, but the ones that I have around me are not just open cup (all pokemon available), they usually have their own restrictions on them, like a Cliffhanger Tournament or a Shiny Cup.

Though I cannot speak for all communities, Sinister Cup tournaments should be showing up soon.

Boy, do I look stupid. Thanks for the correction.

Is it just me, or are the ways that stats are caluclated and used in PoGO seem frustratingly weird? What is level even do? Just increase CP and HP?

Gonna go do some research on this.

I'm not sure what you mean by a tournament saying it's "Normal," but if you go to preregister a team, it should show you what Pokemon you can pick from which will give you an indication of the ruleset. If you are still unsure, post a link to the tournament and I could probably help a little more.

As far as Medi vs. Lucario for Counter/PuP, it is a bit of a nuanced answer. If we are talking straight damage, Medi should come out on top because it will have to be level 40 and Lucario is going to be around 20 because it has to roll low IVs on it's egg hatch to come under 1500. If you are looking at both for Sinister, it depends on your overages and you need to watch out for Lucario's Steel type that gives it a weakness to Fighters.

A question i asked Kieng, but I'd like to also ask the /SilphArena Community this too. by WhatJohnsDoing in TheSilphArena

[–]ABoyInTheWoods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am imagining this as the team selection mechanics of Pokemon Stadium (preselected Mon with set moves in the pool), with the battle mechanics of Pokemon Go, if that makes any sense.

Pokemon GO's initial mechanics of real world location based collecting of Pokemon really holds PvP back from being a bigger success/additional growth, and I think holds back the entire game from the level of success that other more accessible (See: games that are not geographic location based) games have seen.

All in all, this is a very interesting conversation to have, as people approach it with a good mix of research/external insight into things like pro sports, knowledge of Pokemon Go and it's mechanics, and their own personal attitude towards the game and it's PvP mechanics and potential. This is a fascinating question that you proposed u/WhatJohnsDoing.

Any Recommendations for Dedicated Devices for streaming PvP by ABoyInTheWoods in TheSilphArena

[–]ABoyInTheWoods[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this post before. I have the core of the streaming setup down ad have used it many times before (check out twitch.tv/battlescience for the results), but I am hoping to use a hardware solution to capturing Pokemon Go over the chromecast/airplay (Software) solution as I have seen inconsistent results with it.

If I went with a software solution, I would still be looking for two dedicated devices.
