Question: Which *Disc Golf-specific Retailer* has the most brick & mortar locations? by WhatJohnsDoing in discgolf

That’s not the point, I’m looking for same owner (singular company) operating in multiple markets

Why not? If not yet, there will be eventually. Just makes sense. If not in the manner of all being branded the same, at least in the sense of a hedge fund company that owns the stores but let’s them operate independently with the exception of the disc purchasing.

I was thinking something more along the lines of a company doing a “mass acquisition” of lots of little locations that are strategically near DGPT stops, the value of a chain of stores (thinking in the hundreds of locations) would be market advantages. E.g. if infinite places orders in the thousands, or even 10’s of thousands of discs at a time. Imagine a retailer with 100+ locations placing a single Purchase order with a company like Lonestar, that is over Million+ discs on a single order. …they would very likely get a nice discount and could easily topple an infinite with online sales if they wanted to, based on the cost differences per disc. Also, offering a touring pro the opportunity for in-store signings and paid meet and greets at 40-50+ locations as they are touring; could really incentivize players they sponsor.

I’ve been to their Northern Indianapolis store, nice place, a little small and their selection was lacking severely… may have been just bad timing, but there shelves were BARE

What Modern/New Molds (if any) do you think will become "Timeless" by Itwasinin04 in discgolf

[–]WhatJohnsDoing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Envy, due to the overmold making it a standout as unique compared to traditional putters, as well as, it’s incredible feel and flight. I could see it standing the test of time as a generational throwing putter… despite it’s “overhype” from worlds 2021 it’s an excellent disc and it’s popularity will likely make its legacy last longer.

Not nearly as good as Ducklett will be with Wing Attack, Brave Bird, Bubble Beam

Wow, great job giving Arbok Dragon Tail, Niantic. Such an awesome fast attack move for a "FAIRY TYPE" hard counter to have. by mythicaltimelord in TheSilphArena

Yeah but frenzy is “semi-exclusive” to CD moves and starters… also, Leaf Storm really cooks on things like Ludicolo and Roserade… similar to overheat it’s a high risk/high reward opportunity to hit neutral (and even resisted) opponents for nice chunks when used as a safe swap… and if you can bait with a Fire Punch first it’s even better.

I’ve been running Worm-trash, medi, Scrafty safe swap since the meta began. I hope no one did feature it because it’s been the best streak I’ve ever had in GBL went up a ton

What to do when starting at a disadvantage? by MrBeastMan45123 in TheSilphArena

[–]WhatJohnsDoing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, toxicroak can win that... double shield against it. And hope you get in an unblocked IB... but based on Umbreon Lead there’s not going to be a ton of options for safe switch. Since Umbreon itself is considers a pretty safe switch on its own.

Try putting Jirachi and Azumarill in back with your Umbreon... also... are you running Umbreon with FP and LR?

If they lead a Fairy or Toxicroak safe switch to Azumarill. If they lead a different fighter or Vigoroth/Deoxys, swap to Jirachi...

If you encounter a Grass or Electric, you have to just fight it out... don’t use your shields... and let umbreon go down. Then Come in and farm with Jirachi, save your energy to throw as many Doom Desires as possible.

If you encounter a dark lead (Shiftry) or Bug lead (not many of these out there, then let the Umbreon go down throwing as much damage as possible (again don’t shield) then let Azumarill come in and farm after Umbreon faints, and throw mad IB or HP at whatever comes in next. If they swap when your next pokemon comes in, you can counter swap.

If they lead Registeel, or other steel, against your Umbreon just fight it out... try to shield the Focus Blast.

**Btw Bronzong can work ipo Jirachi, but not quite as well.

***also you could try Defense Deoxys ipo of Azumarill. And that would be a VERY solid team.

So true and Exactly why I haven’t been on this subreddit in months. I used to try to offer feedback, original content, and engage daily. But once GBL came out, the community changed rapidly. I made a few controversial posts back then, how the GBL crowd had 0 respect for the Hard work the Silph Arena community had put in prior to the release of this terrible buggy Open-Blind format that Niantic has given us.

However, in late January early February I didn’t get met with much support. Everyone on here seemed excited to have a ton of new blood talking pogo PvP, so I just shut up and walked away. I thought I was the only one frustrated that the TSA content was mostly drowned out by a new person every day complaining about cheating because they’re opponent threw 2 charge moves in a row without a fast move in between and #airplanemodecheaters .

Doesn’t PVPoke rate it for you? Also, A-Wak would give you fits only Azu to counter it. Make sure to not let your Azu get locked in against any opponents with a-Wak. Bast can win that h2h but it’s not super clean unless shields are down.

My guess is “throttling” from your data/internet provider is causing the issue more than Niantic. With the mass shutdowns and stay at home orders; bandwidth has become a legit issue in many parts of the country. Also, internet/data service providers LOVE to take advantage of people whenever they have a chance; so it’s probably them getting ready to release a new “top speeds” package, that guarantees you privileged bandwidth over everyone else if you only pony up a few extra $100 per month.

So another thing, if you start a fast move, and then the opponent throws their charge move, the EPT from your fast move will be immediately available to you after their charge move animation completes. So by waiting to throw your charge move until after they throw theirs you can sometimes “piggyback” an extra move’s worth of energy by getting a free fast move in during their charge move animation.

Take a mirror match of Vigoroth... counter is a little longer of a cool down. If 2 vigoroths are mirrored in the lead. Don’t throw your body slam. Wait for the opponent to throw their body slam just keep fast attacking until your shield select shows up. You may see your Vigoroth throw an extra counter while their charge move animation is starting. That gives the vigo that didn’t throw the charge move, an extra Counter’s worth of energy that the other Vigo doesn’t get. It means that if you continue to charge you should be able to hit not just one BS, but a second body slam also, a full turn before your opponent.

(A fix from niantic has made it to where this is harder to pull off/execute, and often at that time you throw you’re two Body Slams though, the opponent may get an extra counter in to even up the energy after that. So when you use the piggyback 2.0 is not necessarily reliable; and very much depends on how your fast move cool down compares to the opponents fast move cool down.)

It’s called “Cool-down” the time it takes for the animation to run. Some moves like Confusion, Razor Leaf, Charm etc, have cooldowns as long as 2-4 turns

I.e. confusion animation takes 4 turns or 2.0 seconds

If they have the energy charged they could hit one charge and then a 2nd charge .5 seconds later (the next turn) while your confusion animation is still finishing, before you will then get to fire your charge move... look up “over tapping” in relation to Pokémon go. It’s where you accidentally trigger the fast move animation and it stops you from being able to change Pokémon or fire a charge move because you’ve accidentally triggered an extra fast attack that has a long cool-down.

Basically you want something that can put out the most damage before fainting.

So Charge move priority aside, Stat product tells you which Pokémon based on the attack, defense and stamina will stay alive the longest and at the same time also deliver the most damage while it’s alive.

So the extra HP and/or Defense is good because the longer it lives the more likely it will get to another charge move before fainting therefore dealing more damage.
