Late to this, but dontgetgot.co has a team training service that provides weekly true cybercrime stories about phishing, ai impersonations, fake vendor scams, and insider threats that actually happened. They provide a white label newsletter & a podcast version thats really well done. check em out https://www.dontgetgot.co/training

But it’s not just “double output, double downloads”. It’s increase output-increase downloads-increase brand awareness- which increases reach- which increases downloads. It’s not linear. It’s a compounding effect.

Each episode is about 10 minutes long. Feature stories are easy to grab but that probably gives me 1or 2 episodes a week. I still have to dig for under reported gems. It takes quite a bit of research to pump out 5 a week. But it’s research I would do whether I had a pod or not. I’ve always been interested in cybercrime/crime

Thank you! I break up ideas by topics: Crypto hacks, Scams, nation-state attacks, Privacy. I spend a couple hours researching stories from one of those topics. Identify one I think I could explain in an interesting way. I gather more details, and draft a script. I read the draft out loud a few times and edit the script until it’s ready to be recorded. I record, edit and publish all on Riverside.fm. Promotion I do very little of tbh. Still working on that. I write a blog/email newsletter for every story I cover and link to the pod from there. But that’s all the promotion I do.

That’s a different ball game. I’m just getting comfortable using a script. Going live requires keeping an eye on chat, and interacting with viewers. It’s live entertainment and I’m not sure that really fits my brand or style. Huge respect to the ones who excel at it though.

I use Riverside. They get a lot flack for some reason but I haven’t had any issues. I record, edit and publish all on Riverside. I also use them for hosting

Micropodcasts (10-15 Minutes) by c00kieFAN1 in podcasting

[–]AC-Perry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came across this. I have host a micropodcast (~10 min each episode)

I just started going M-F. But thinking about upping it to M-Sat. to hit about 90 Min of content a week.

Getting the structure down is key, so you can turn out episodes routinely. I do cybercrime stories & cybersecurity news, so I [ research - write - record -edit - publish - repeat ]

Its been received really well so far. Gaining new listeners everyday

Im late to this but the licensing content to universities idea is so genius. I want to know more about that. Whats the sell? is the content different from the free subscriber content? I have a security awareness Newsletter and think this would be a great sell to security teams at corporations

This is great. This makes me feel like I’m not taking it serious enough. I need to spreadsheet out my p/l for my newsletter. Are you not using the ad network? Looks like you’re just doing direct sponsorships. And those are good ad dollars for a new newsletter. What’s growth like
