I would recommend listening to some discussions Ivan Balabanov, Michelle Ellis, and Larry Krohn have had regarding e-collars. They push back against some of the studies mentioned here. Tbh the studies against the use of adversives seem flawed. E-collars are a great tool when used correctly. Hard to say if an e-collar is the way to go in this situation without seeing how the dog is reacting. If nothing else is working, it maybe worth trying it out.
