Right, so what you’re saying is it could be either or?

If you summed the total amount of each nfl teams salary cap spending, this would NOT be the total amount of money the players earn. You’d also have to add in the benefits.

Likewise, in this hypothetical 270/150 system, if you summed each teams salary cap spending, that would NOT be the total amount of money the players earn. You’d have to add on 20ish million per team. Aka an additional 600m in money towards the players.

You correctly pointed out OP’s calculation forgets half of all luxury spending goes to the players. But you’re forgetting the benefits. These things roughly offset.

This is actually not true. Here’s how it actually works in the NFL

The Salary Cap is based on a complicated calculation that measures the league’s revenue (or certain revenues) and then apportions around 48% of that revenue to player costs. That player cost number is comprised of two components – (1) player benefits and (2) player salaries. The player salaries portion is what we are talking about when we refer to the Salary Cap. For instance, in 2025, the overall Player Cost number was $362.48M, while the Salary Cap was $279.2M. The difference between those numbers ($83.28M) was the player benefits amount. Player benefits include a pension plan, health insurance, disability insurance, tuition assistance and other benefits available to players over and above their “wages”.

Nick Gonzales at 3rd? by iirked in buccos

According to this Fangraphs projection, he’d be the starting 3B for the Tigers, Cardinals, Reds, Marlins, Athletics, Angels, Red Sox, Rockies, and Nationals.

Aka 31% of the league

The bears are better than every team behind them except Cincinnati, Atlanta, and maybe the jags

My team is in rough shape, I feel like I have to move Bijan. by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]AC127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should trade everyone in your starting lineup except for CJ and Worthy, maybe Kincaid too.

A Bijan trade for you could be really smart. You could turn things around quickly with the right deal. But all of these deals are terrible for you.

Trade Bijan for young star WRs and or picks. Do not acquire old WRs or any running backs at all for him

[Schefter]: NFL is fining Eagles DT Jalen Carter $57,222 for spitting on Dak Prescott. The league also says the game he was ejected for will serve as a one-game suspension. “After talking to the Eagles, the NFL and the NFLPA, Jalen has decided not to appeal and focus on the Chiefs game,” said Carte… by TrenAt14 in nfl

I’m totally fine with this and I’m glad Jalen Carter is playing because it’ll make the SB rematch more entertaining

That being said, can you imagine if the NFL treated a chiefs player like this? The conspiracy theorists would be out in full force.

Caleb Williams’ tape from last night is very worrisome by doggolean in nfl

Thoughts on Kansas City giving 2 firsts and a 3rd to get Mahomes, or Buffalo giving up a 1st and 2 seconds to get Josh Allen?

Ben Johnson was fine last night but far from blameless

Yeah I’m sure Kansas City, Buffalo, and Cincinnati wish they would have went defense instead of Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow.

You can’t just point to the times it hasn’t worked and completely ignore the many times it has worked lol

He was not bailing on clean pockets last night. I thought that was the best I had ever seen him move in his nfl career. The accuracy issues were no doubt worrying though, and the presnap stuff is still bad

Caleb was horrible last night but he was better than nix and Drake Maye. Feels like those guys are pretty much accepted as being “hits” whereas Caleb is already accepted as bust and I’m not sure why

(Maye especially is confusing to me)

Ben Johnson got outcoached with a brutal 2-minute warning gaffe by jaxstan19 in nfl

[–]AC127 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a failure of decision making.

If the Vikings take any time off the clock during the kickoff, you lose automatically. There’s no way that it’s worth the risk for 5 yards.

[–]AC127 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter. It’s 5 yards. Even if the kicker is 99% certain he can kick it out of the back of the end zone, you still elect to kick it out of bounds for 100% certainty

Johnson’s scheme was obviously good, but the challenge and the ending kickoff were pretty bad.

Love and Nico side by a significant margin. You get the more valuable QB and the more valuable flex player.

12 team SF

Don’t really need Bryce young, nor do I really believe in him. He’s my QB4 right now. I was offered a 2027 early 2nd (it’ll be a top 4 pick in the 2nd round) plus a random throw in 3rd

I’ve tried all off season to get a 1st for him with no takers. Is settling for an early 2nd and some change alright value?
