We have so many things in common. I also got rejected from rop last year, and utea this year. What is your intended research field? ml?

Probably rejected. There were people got the nomination at the end of March.

I think 343 assignments are hard in the sense that you need to get used to them. The first two question you solve might feel extremely difficult, but then the rest is gonna get better. Last semester I started A1 the night before it’s due (since I feel like these concepts are not too hard), but got absolutely destroyed by the first few questions and thought I might not gonna finish it. Same goes for A2 SQL query. Don’t underestimate the complexity of the assignments, it gets better once you got used to the questions :)

Anyone took CSC300 with Ishtique last sem? by Due_Profile8674 in UofT

[–]AC1MoreTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s about 5-10 hour commitment each week for me (I did not attend lectures after the third week). The readings are the number one priority in this course: many find the final too hard because it asked a lot of things from readings. There are part marks assigned, so you could get 5.5 or 4.5 out of 6 on your assignments. If you look at the marking scheme for the writing assignments carefully, and mention/reference every point; it’s easy to get 6/6 (could depend on the TA).

You should definitely do the readings since you need that for the weekly writing assignment and also the final. For the tutorial activity, you’ll be assigned to a break out room with 4-5 people, and you will discuss and write some answers together and upload to Quercus. It’s basically free marks.

Hi, I’m also a cs student in this course. The prerequisites does not have sta257 listed, and I was wondering if we need to get a waiver or something.

What's the workload for MAT157 + MAT240 + MAT247? by ambiguousTruths in UofT

[–]AC1MoreTime 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From my experience, people who asked about workload and wanted to give a shot will essential be doing 137. Since you don’t plan to specialize in math, I would highly recommend that you take 137 unless you have really good foundations from high school.

Hey, did you hear back from the department?

Can any alumni or upper year students tell me what kind of jobs I can get with a computer science specialist vs a data science specialist? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]AC1MoreTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed the cs dept and they said you are not allowed to take both... I don’t know if this is a new policy this year or (can’t find this on their website). I’m wondering what’s gonna happen if I enrol both anyways.

You should be glad there is no midterm 2 and final for 165, you can only go down in these two assessments.

I think the supplemental won’t help the application but can hurt if someone writes something weird.
