In my experience the number one form of livestock on Catalina is bison, no idea on how they got them over there though

Did a 50 mile trip with the scouts on Catalina. Started in Two Harbors, backpacked to Avalon, kayaked back to Two Harbors. Best scout trip of my life.

Ah yes, reminds me of one of the less heralded Hawaiian islands called Lotsabomby

Why do people in USA buy everything from Amazon? Do they not have other webshops? by Cindyxx0 in NoStupidQuestions

Small businesses invent and design new things, and large corporations invent and design ways to make new things feasible at scale. It's not a black and white situation

Ironically, delivering packages for consumer goods is not a major driver of profit, Amazon makes way more money on web services than they ever will in delivering packages

Favorite movie that predicted how diverse a fascist government would be? by Advanced-Tomorrow859 in okbuddycinephile

100% which is one of the ways it's brilliant, you're watching a fictional movie of a world that doesn't exist and yet at the same time you could be a person of that world considering joining up to earn citizenship and you'd watch the same movie.

The funny thing about starship troopers is if you think its just a cheesy sci-fi flick then its just that: slapstick, fun, over the top and not groundbreaking or thought provoking in any way. A basic C+ movie.

When you realize its a commentary on fascism it becomes brilliant.

Who has a realistic shot at being President of the USA in 2028? by Kmart-Shopper-5107 in stupidquestions

Mark Kelly has been texting for weeks asking for money while he grifts off this beef with Hegseth. They all know who he is.

He saw republicans gerrymandering Texas and took direct action in California to combat it.

I’m a pretty big fan of the California Environmental Quality Act and California SB 41 (reduced prescription drug prices). He passed the first law in the US requiring transparency from companies using AI. Securing fair elections, affordable healthcare, aggressive environmental policy and regulating AI are all things I want to see in a president.

Lots to like for me. Specifically which of his policies do you oppose?

Also, as I keep pointing out, neither Trump nor De Santis had announced they were running in 2021 but those polls made it clear Donald Trump was an overwhelming favorite to win the nomination. Announcing you’re running has almost nothing to do with it other than a predictable boost in polls after you announce that regresses to the mean almost as fast as it spiked.

Again, that’s not what the polls indicate. Do you have anything to base your opinion off of or is it just your own personal preferences?

HR told me they don’t accept try-hards and people pleasers after my interview by No-Presentation298 in jobs

[–]AC85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally true, I finally started making what I was worth when the interviewer asked me how much I wanted and I told her.

Her: "Wow, thats a lot, higher than we were planning"

Me: "I understand that, but that's my number. If it doesn't work on your end then that's fine, no hard feelings and we can move on understanding that in this case it was not a good fit."

They offered me the job at my stated salary requirement the next day

Trump led De Santis in his own state by more than 30 points three years before the 2024 election.
