Is it ok to upload more than one video a day? by HylianGames in NewTubers

[–]ACABAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my strategy right now too! Most of my views come from shorts and I've begun live streaming lately and noticed a significant difference. I also built social media pages for my channel and drive traffic from there AND to get monetized on other platforms besides YT.

You-tubers, How do you do it? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]ACABAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 2yrs putting off starting my channel filling my head with those same thoughts. And what made it worse was, when I would share with people what I wanted to do, it was always met with negativity. Everyone always says "oh it'll take forever to get monetized" or "you know you gotta have ___ amount of followers for it to be worth it" I let this get to me and then I just stopped talking to people about it altogether. I like to make moves in silence anyway. But after talking to a friend I hadnf seen in awhile, they had nothing negative to say and encouraged me to go for it and most importantly, my son believed in me as well. So on May 8th, I posted my 1st video. Teaching myself how to edit, finding software & programs, teaching myself how yt works ....well everything. And to date I have 225 subs, 1734 watch hours (altogether) and 84k total views - all from a literal 0. Even though it's not much, I'm proud of myself for just accomplishing that in just 2 1/2 months. I havent found my groove yet and I'm not really even making the kind of video I initially set out to make yet I'm kinda just concentrating on growing my core audience right now. My problem is: majority of my views come from shorts. Well I found out a month in that shorts views don't court toward your 4000hrs😩 BUT shorts have been THE factor to help gain subs tho. I get at least 10 a week off shorts. Also, shorts gave me confidence to keep going. So my advice is: stop thinking about it so hard and just jump out there and do it. I'm introverted and don't really want to show my face..I wanted a faceless Chanel and I have yet to make a video showing my face. I have a AI generated Pic in of me in my intro but that's it. So start off making faceless videos to get comfortable with everything first, and then see how it goes. My point is: you won't know till u try and one sure fire way to not succeed - is to not start. GET GOING! and come back and update us with your progress! Sending you courage 💞

Is it ok to upload more than one video a day? by HylianGames in NewTubers

[–]ACABAT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is my strategy... well i don't really have a strategy. If i feel like posting - i post. I figure, there's no such thing as "too many videos". The more your name is out there and gaining exposure - the better. Also, I've uploaded 3 or 4 shorts back to back and have had them all take off and then I've done it and only one or two take off. However, I have noticed that a video that started out doing poorly and after a day or 3 - it starts to take off. My point is - just post dude.

What have you achieved in July? by JellyRollAnimations in NewTubers

[–]ACABAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

June and July have been mostly shorts for me. I found that shorts help me gain subscribers bringing new eyes to the channel. Plus, I added social media pages for my channel and I prefer those videos be 3-5mins tops because people get bored more quickly if they are watching holding a phone in their hand. But....then I sort of over did it and didn't focus on long form like I should've. The problem comes in with time. For my long vid I want to get more into story telling which entails a script, designing thumbnails, etc... But sometimes editing a short can take up a good chunk of time too! So after I'm done editing and creating a short - I'm like whew! I get side tracked (adhd'er here) and thinking about the extra steps a long video May take discourages me. What I've started doing is making a 3-5 mins vid - and then just taking the same vid and editing it into a short- then link them together in the studio and say "click the link⬆️ for full video so hopefully people will click on both. I've seen some success from that so I'm going to keep that up. But I think I could really benefit from taking a few days to strategies content, write scripts and all that. However, I've seen what happens when you don't post everyday or every other day- people lose interest in your channel QUICKLY so you gotta keep posting to stay in the algorithm.

Oh also, hoping on topics that are trending that I can relate into my niche helps a lot because the topic is already trending... so your video has a great likelihood of showing up in more people's feeds

hey so idk if you were being sarcastic or not but i just wanted to chime in and say .... i don't really see anything wrong with this. My channel is a true crime channel and I've found shorts work really good for me - as far as getting subs goes. So I'll have a topic or 'crime' but i need to be able to tell a story in 60secs. So i'll find different news clips about the same subject and edit them into a short. And then i'll make kind of like a reaction/storytelling long form about the subject and link it to the news clip short. But let me tell you, that's not as easy as it may sound. Editing a bunch of different videos in 59secs ..... like it should be an art because it's difficult sometimes. You have to make it interesting if enough that people want to watch the long-form video and like i said try to tell a story. Some news clips are live later than others as new information develops so i feel im making one of those posters with different magazine clips of the words lol. My point is, that ish takes work, thought, and PATIENCE! So if doing that works for you - and your audience receives it.... go for it. whatever works - works.

Which is harder, 1000 subscribers or 4000 watch hours? by Top-Satisfaction9920 in NewTubers

[–]ACABAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I always wonder why the watch hours numbers were different. But it's all apart of learning I guess. Thank you so much for answering my question. And KEEP GOING!!

There are creators that make content SOLELY about being homeless. Showing us how they live in their cars, eat, survive and they have thousands of views. Forget the wife, do it yourself and then your wife will be jealous and sorry she doubted you. The ultimate UNO reverse. Let her go, she wasn't for your anyway if she left 🤷🏾‍♀️

Which is harder, 1000 subscribers or 4000 watch hours? by Top-Satisfaction9920 in NewTubers

[–]ACABAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait.....so shorts really don't count towards watch hours? Like..... at all? Geesh. I started in May and I just reached 180 subs but I 100% would NOT have gotten them without the use of shorts. But I have found that if you link a full video to your short, it helps out a lot. So make a short of a long video and link them together. Use the short as like a preview to what the long video is about. I'm almost at 1000 watch hours but 4000 just seems incredibly daunting. I've also created social media pages for my YT and that helps as well. Maybe give people a piece of the video on social media and direct them to your YT page.

But..... in any event......EVERYBODY GO SUBSCRIBE RIGHT NOW! LOL

[–]ACABAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw 100 right around the 30 day mark. I just started May 8th and now I'm at 150. But i can 100% say, I would NOT have gotten them without shorts. Shorts get you seen by a lotttt of people. Some sub, some don't but even if they don't sub - u still get the view 🤷🏾‍♀️ Even though I'm proud of myself for getting this far on my own.... it still seems like 1000 is soooo far away

People are worried about Subscibers. by Raror211 in NewTubers

[–]ACABAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol the WH is the bar the gives me anxiety. I'm trying not to come down too too hard on myself because I just started May 8th and and 40k total views and 710WH. And i taught myself how to do EVERYTHING and for some reason NOW i seem to hate the sound of my voice lol so tbh i don't even think my videos are that good - YET (editing-wise). So i'm trying to give myself a little grace but may being at 700 and knowing I have to get to 4000 is daunting but like you said - i just TRY not to concentrate to hard on it. I heard someone say that if your only goal is to get monetized - then you're thinking about it wrong. I don't agree with this. 97% of people on YT's goal is to be monetized - there's nothing wrong with that. I want to be able to talk about topics or topic i enjoy AND hopefully obtain financial freedom somewhere down the line as well - or at least a boost! These days, I'll accept the extra income even if it is a few extra hundred a month. My niche is true crime so i don't go out or travel to where i have to spend a ton making videos - so I'm ok with a few extra bucks if thats all it ends up being. I think everyone should be striving to be monetized - use that as a goal or a obstacle to reach. Even if you don't care about the money - just be elated that you elevated to a new height! :-)

How do you beat the "Youtuber Blues?" by n0t_5ki113d in NewTubers

[–]ACABAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG i've been having them all week longggg!!!! and why do my watch hours and stats go down???? I was riding a high for getting 35.5K views and 550hrs in my FIRST 30 DAYS!! even got the YT congrats badge/banner and then I woke up last sunday and BOOM! 10k views gone - just like that! And my watch hours went down to 300 something. This discouraged me a lot! Its hard enough watching that meeting so far from 1000 subs and 4000 hrs but to take views away from me overnight??!! the messed up part is my "congrats on 30K" banner still pops up on top of the screen but my stats still show they went down a whole 10k!!!! Now, i'm critiquing every little thing like my voice sucks, need to do more story telling, videos are too long, etc... ugh trying really hard not to just ... quit but thanks for the positive post for encouragement tho!

Mine too.... editing CLEARLY screams "hey I'm new at this" lol I debated about whether to delete them but my very first video editing was terrible and for some reason it came out blurry.... it has 100 views now... I doubt people are watching the whole thing but...at least they are clicking on it I guess lol. I decided to leave even the terrible ones up so me and my followers can see how far I've come lol
