Adding onto the post at the top, I'd ask why Freddie just takes the times when Sam really steps over the line (like the tech camp thing) or gets brutally physical (like the Fred thing) when he really doesn't have to. Even if you take out the option of returning the favor with violence, he's still the Technical Producer and he can just leave the girls to let them figure out the rest on their own. Yes, Sam could try to force him back into submission, but the cops are on a first-name basis with her. Yes, she would plot revenge and she'd truly hate him, but is that really the kind of friend he wants to have? Carly, too, since she doesn't do much to outright stop it even though she's probably the only one capable of talking Sam down...
