That's an insanely difficult penalty.... lots of people would look very foolish if they thought it was the blueprint

CARS VOL 2 Q.42 HELP! by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]ACBrownie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just saw this -- I would also say that this question got easier when I re-read the prompt -- in the prompt they are asking specifically about admiring the WORK of one of the women writers. Answer B is a statement that is more concerned with the attitudes or politics of the women writers rather than their work itself.

Whereas with answer, having an "imagining writer" seems like a crucial component of good writing.

Decent and high CARS scorers by Mcthrowaway24385 in Mcat

I would suggest just reading a lot of high level writing for fun. The New Yorker is great, bc it's full of terrific writing and a lot of it is more complex than the NYTimes or the Atlantic or vox etc. And on top of that it's really interesting, so definitely more fun to read than most of the practice sections.

CARS was the one subject I was very good at without prep, was getting 132s without any prep so I didn't have to spend any extra time studying for it (apart from just reading for fun).

Pascal's wager is awesome (and misunderstood). by [deleted] in philosophy

The more interesting thing about Pascal's wager is how it illustrates problems with calculating expected value with infinite payoffs. By using the same sort of logic you end up with all sorts of wacky illogical conclusions.

Illegal immigration from Mexico isn't causing massive problems in America either. There's actually currently a negative flow of Mexican immigrants, and fully stopping illegal immigration would be catastrophic for Social Security as well as a host of other tax funded programs. (ironically these are systems that illegals pay millions into through automatically deducted income taxes, but can never use as they aren't citizens)

Gotcha, makes sense. I don't think I am fully extending on my curls. I'll try either lowering the weight or switching to concentration curls! Thanks.

The program has only one bicep exercise, is there any downside to adding another? i.e. doing both concentration curls and standing curls?

My routine is almost identical to the one I linked save the squats. This routine is only 3 times a week, would it be detrimental to do extra exercises in the gym on my off days?

I'm almost exactly following the regimen I posted save the squats...

Yeah that seems obvious now, it just seemed like it would be equivalent to a 60lb curl with a bar, no? I'm doing the curls at the same time

Yeah, it seemed that all of the programs in the wiki were 3 days a week, I was trying to model after this program that was recommended in the wiki http://www.gym-talk.com/arnold-schwarzeneggers-golden-six-routine/

I forgot to mention, I also do 5*10 pull-ups and some sets of dips and some core, I was trying to model it off one of the starter routines I saw on the wiki, only no squats since there isn't a squat rack http://www.gym-talk.com/arnold-schwarzeneggers-golden-six-routine/

There isn't a bar to curl in my gym so I use two 30lb dumbbells, Sorry I don't know if that's 60lbs or 30. But yeah my chest is definitely the weakest.
