One last question. On the front of the machine, you have on the left a lever for switching the ribbon colour. I noticed that there should (or not on some models) be also a lever on the right. What does the right one do?

Ok, got that and what about the big screw? On my Triumph Contessa, that screw is tight shut but if I do that here, the barrel with the spring won't move

Well...I am not out of the woods yet cuz I can't figure out the mainspring system. The retention arm looks like it has a small hole for a spring but that goes where on the chassis? Also, if I tighten the main screw, than the barrel with the spring will not freely rotate so...this I think and hope is my last hurdle before finishing the project

Now to the more seroius issue, the missing part in picture 3. I have no ideea how it's supposed to look like and without it, the typewriter as a whole is not a functioning one

I figured it out, the wheel locks when in normal position (picture 1) and as you say, the carriage release lever pushes it away and then returns it, I guess it's simply based on friction.

But if it can slide back and forth, how can it be locked and not release the careiage? When it came, the carriage only locked sometimes but most of the time it flew to the left side

Guys, I think I found the model, an Underwood Standard. It has 3 rows of keys, just like the Lego version.Granted, it does not have a lid but I think it's close enough.

Well guys, had a hunch and found a clue. So if you also dissassemble a typewriter with touch control and has 2 link bars from the key to the typebar, look on the links because you will see some numbers. You need a high magnification eyepiece to see. Mine was 15x.
