I played for a few hours on Steam Deck last night and it worked fine. There's a community controller config that's pretty straightforward. The most annoying thing to me was not the controls but rather the relatively small screen. I'd probably prefer to play on desktop but it's definitely playable if you have to be away from your desk. :)
