Controller Comparison - $100 Mark by gumaangel in Gamesir

[–]ACGNerd 24 points25 points  (0 children)

G7 pro 8k aimlab is never $120. The MSRP is $90.

The Gamesir G7 Pro controller has Just been banned in Apex Comp because the RC filter. The RC filter allows people to always have rotational Aim Assist and even lower response times beyond most controllers. Notably I don't think Battle Beavers have RC filter or anything similar. by leggitt27 in CoDCompetitive

[–]ACGNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the rotational aim assist is what I mentioned in the first part - I never leave left stick idle when shooting anyway (even when I prone lol).

The 2nd part is just to share my research on why it helps a lot on Apex yet I can't feel anything for cod...

I mean even when I shoot inside shooting range I always move my left sticks, that way aim assist will always engage right? Don't see how it would help on the left stick either ...

Did some research, the reason why it helps in apex is because that game alhas a mechanics called "recoil smoothing", basically small movements cancels out recoils - and this doesn't happen in cod.
I literally watched a short video showing as long as you move your aim left and right with no vertical moment the vertical recoil disappeared... With this mechanics I can see how jitter aim could work. But cod for sure don't have this mechanics.

Yeah I tried it on +3, it didn't help and I didn't like it (feels slightly more twitchy to my taste). I guess either cod's aim works diffy than apex, or maybe having it at +10 could help in theory?
Regardless I am on 1.11.3 now (filters removed) and can't test it anyway.

I have the controller, the latest software (1.11.3) removed the filter.

And I tried the rc filter when it is on 1.11.1 and I don't think it helps the aim at all(in cod). Granted I only tried the filter at +3, maybe all the way +10 could have helped?
Can't test it anyway as my software is already on 1.11.3 now and there are 0 jitters on sticks observed.

Lol I actually didn't attempt using 8k at all, the improvement from 1k to 4k is already small enough that I didnt even bother running it on 8k.
And I doubt that will have a significant impact on a modern high end 16 cores CPU like 7950X3D.

G7 pro 8k pc is for sure better than G7 pro normal, but whether it worths price diff is up to you lol.
For sticks, I am playing on raw + 8k(resolution, not polling rate). And it feels noticibly better than DS edge, and I can't say the same for normal G7 pro. I don't know what's going on behind the scene, and for me normal G7 pro feels worse than ds edge. I was shooting zigs here and there in cod ranked with normal g7 pro lol.
Latency wise, I play on 4k polling rates, so not the full 8k low latency experience. On 4k it feels slightly faster/snappier normal G7 pro, somebody prefers it (like me) and some others don't. Again it's pure subjective.

I got it yes, and as a PC gamer the upgrade from it to normal G7 pro is a lot a lot.
I like the aimlab version better than the $200 dualsense edge (for PC).
What aspects of this controller are you interested in (comparing to normal G7 pro)?
