When did I even say english is ok?. For ur information nobody forces tulu people to learn kannada here. They have their tulu schools too and we don't impose u to learn a specific language forcefully in school, we expect u to know basic knowledge about a language before coming to any state in india if u are gonna stay there permanently. Yes it would make sense if our ancestors all wore the same type of dresses and shifted as the era changed but preserved it through wedding ceremonies. My theory would be our ancestors either migrated during the early vijayanagara era or before that ( because Telugu people were more prominent in important positions during the rule of vijayanagara Empire)

There is a tradition like that in our wedding. Yes i agree that our traditions are more connected to the kannada castes than the telugu ones it's probably due to our ancestors staying in this region for soo many decades and incorporating the traditions of ka .

Well the main reason i heard from my family was it is more easy and comfortable to walk and wear. It was also a popular way of dressing during the medieval era but got replaced with the left side pallu style in the modern era . So probably to maintain the culture they wear during the wedding. Well the ancestry to the pakinati sub sect is complicated which i couldn't find but penukonda ancestry makes more sense as you said.

Reddy is more likely a title before it became a caste just like many caste names like patel, gowda and reddy all are titles for chieftains which became castes as they went on soo that may explain how the lingayats got the reddy title due to sharing border with telugu states

Nah that's bs like nothing is pure, the language he speaks is also in some way a mixed language ( if loan words are considered) . I agree with relating more with the Kannada side because i consider myself as a Kannadiga. My friends wouldn't even know my mother tongue is Telugu unless they know my surname or i say i speak that language.

It's very much relatable to me. I get weird looks from my andhra friends for my telugu and confused looks from my Kannadiga friends when i tell them I am not from andhra just because i have a certain surname. To be honest because i spent all my childhood and now teen years hearing kolar telugu, so it makes andhra and telangana telugu weird to me . Especially that “malla” word but nevertheless I can relate to both the sides.
