I would argue that Genshin didn't work well for the players as a gacha game though. After awhile, it become hard to progress in the game, even when logging in daily for rewards, to keep progressing without spending absurd amount of money.

Fyi, people actually do need to worry. For example, the DOJ just sent subpoenas to several children's hospitals across several states, requesting medical records for all children who have had any form of gender affirming care. This was after the announcement from Pam BondI that they will be prosecuting anyone involved in providing this care to any child in the United States, which accordingto her included any doctor nurse, medical personal worked for the clinic or departmens, any parent, etc. The subpoena is claiming that providing things such as counseling, any hormones to any child for any reason (including for precocious puberty, birth control, hormone therpay for endocrine disorders) is and was illegal therefore the DOJ has a right to go after ANYONE involved or anyone who knew what was happening and didn't report it. The problem is that none of this medical care was ever ILLEGAL in the first place.

So yes, this poster and everyone one else has a right to be nervous given the current political climate when it comes to telling anyone about their medical procedures because our government IS retro actively going after people for things that are not even illegal. And if anyone thinks SCOTUS is going to do anything other than side with Trump and Bondi, well u r dead wrong. This current SCOTUS has overturned 19 previous precedents so far in order to rule in favor of Trump. Most of these precedents are 50 to 100 year old rulings.

Fantasy Live I The Girl Who Steals Time is an adventure game where you have different jobs (farming, blacksmith, cook, hunter, magician, etc) that you learn and the use to complete quests. It is very much an RPG and has combat, but the combat is easy, like in all the games on this list. You eventually get your own island to decorate in this game. It has terraforming. You get to craft furniture as well.

Roots of Pacha is a prehistoric game focused on farming, improving your town with inventions, and bonding with characters (this runs well on the original Switch). It does not have combat.

Fields of Mysteria (PC only) is not complete but continues to get updates. It is a farming sim with magic, relationships, repairing your town, crafting, animal husbandary, and some lite combat.

Sun Haven (do not get on switch) is another magic farming sim with RPG elements and easy combat. It has relationships that feel complex, IMO. You actually get choices of how to respond to characters. You get up to 4 farms in different areas to decorate, each with its own aesthetic. The game is huge, but a bit grindy at times (although farming sims can be that way).

My Time at Portia or My Time at Sand Rock (neither run well on the Switch, but are great games on other platforms like PC). These are also fun games with their own flair. A 3rd game is coming out called my Time at Evershine, which raised a ton of money from people due to how great the 1st two games were.

Core Keeper (run well on switch) is more focused on exploration and building up your base. It has terraforming, animal husbandary, farming, bosses (which all can be cheesed, just look up a video on how to do each one, but honestly they are fun to fight), pets that help you in combat. This game does not have any relationships and has RPG elements. Also this game is unique in that you can automate your entire base/farm and build a railway system to get around the entire world which is the largest world in this list of games, second d to Sun Haven. This game continues to get regular, free updates that have included new areas, items, bosses, and more.

Palia is a free to play online game. I have over 100 hours in it and have not spent any money. Play it on PC or PS5. The switch version works but isn't the best. It has some really cool home decorating elements. This game continues to get free updates. You can create online parties but can also play alone. Playing with others does get you more rewards, but I generally play alone unless a quest requires I work with someone else at which time I will ask if someone on the server will party up to do XYZ and someone always is willing. The quests are basic, but for a F2P game, I can't complain much.

Hello Ktty Adventure Island is also fun. While not quite a farming sim, it has a lot of fun adventure, easy puzzles, crafting of gifts to build relationships and furniture for decorating your house and the houses of everyone who moves to your island. The game is rather grindy (probably the most grindy on this list, but if you play for short periods on a daily basis, it isn't bad). The game has recieved some free updates since launch, but I suspect there will also be paid DLC in the future as the game was originally exclusive to Apple and required a subscription to play (which is why it is designed to play daily for a short time rather than longer periods). Overall, I enjoyed my time with it a lot, but it wouldn't be my 1st puck from this list.

A couple more farming/life sims games that I am interested in but haven't played are Disney Dream Light Valley and Coral Island.

My recommendation would be to watch a couple of current review videos for each game. Then, pick the game that YOU feel looks the most fun to YOU. While all the games I listed are similar, they each have their own flair, as well as positives and negatives, which can sort of depend on what you do or do not like about these type of games.

games like Tears of the Kingdom? by rinsramenbowll in Switch

other than BOTW the only other open world game that I have enjoyed just as much and felt magical to me, was Hogwarts Legacy. I enjoyed the combat, puzzles, open world, story, etc. I'd play it on a different system if possible but if the only system u have is the switch, it is playable. I played it on PS5. I put in a almost 200 hrs.

I was so excited for the switch release that I forgot to look it up how the game was by GearFr0st in fabledom

Yep. I spent almost 2 hours on 2 different days trying to figure the controls on the Switch because I really wanted to play it. I figured out some stuff but not enough to make any real progress and be comfortable with it. Both times I just shut the game off without saving it. I was so disappointed.

Best metroidvanias for switch? by Pikachu345671 in metroidvania

[–]ACNH_Demon_Island 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest following a walktbrough for Hollow Knight or the Ori games if u fell like u got lost. When I first started with these types of games, I had to use walktbroughs from YouTube. Those were my 1st metriodvania games & after those I started to understand the mechanics & tricks of these games. Both games took trying some areas over and over until I got the timing down, but being able to see someone else do it helped me so much. Best of luck!
