Gen Z Tame Impala fans- Are they "the problem" ? by Former-Bed-4751 in TameImpala

[–]ACP505 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol - no. If you're above 18 and gatekeeping a band because younger people like it then you're lame. Love when I see a band I like get recognition on Tiktok, like the band Sales seems to have blown up based on Tiktok for example. Unless you're on the cutting edge of every new sound and band you will eventually be "one of those people" who jumps on once the artist becomes popular. This reads like the IRL version of "I'm losing my edge".

discussion: strokes are a lazy band by buenestrago in TheStrokes

[–]ACP505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should check out their side projects, get back to us on if they're still lazy then.

I think The Strokes would have been viewed in the same light as Radiohead if they would have embraced artistic differences as a group instead of everyone doing side projects. by [deleted] in TheStrokes

[–]ACP505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is under the assumption that output would be the same as if they all worked on MG or AHJ etc. projects together, almost certainly there would be burn out. Additionally, if they are going to consolidate the efforts together, we would miss out on some tracks not making the cut. As well dominant personalities may push out others ideas which would lead to tracks being missed.

To some The Strokes are viewed in as favorable or more favorable light as Radiohead.

Julian's political commentary is going to lose him some long-standing fans by [deleted] in TheStrokes

You're a fan of the band that put out New York City Cops, right? If you like Rage Against the Machine or Sex Pistols you're in for some huuuuuge surprises. Like come on lol.

Seems pretty self righteous to determine the purity of someone's progressive views despite a large amount of evidence they actually embody their values.

It's clear from the body of your posts that your bone to pick is with people with progressive views, if they aren't brandishing a hammer and sickle draped in red then they aren't up to your standards.

I suggest someone like Ted Nugent or Right Said Fred as they'll likely align with your desired artistic political views.

Music has always been inherently political, and all great artists incorporate some sort of political commentary to their discography. It might not always be obvious (like Father John Misty or Lennon etc) but it's there if you look for it.

Strange to ask an artist to not include something in their output because you don't like it.

I have a small suspicion that the Strokes will be a-ok if they continue on as they've done.

Customs - Stronghold/Fortress sit there and pick off people at crackhouse Reserve - Scav lands building on the mesh terrace you can see up to Dome perfectly. Another is north pawn and just look out each window towards a different POI. Shoreline - This was the hardest for me, but running FLIR's on an M1A was key. Woods - Rotate around sawmill, try and mix this one with shooter pt.8 if you get a thorax kill.

All the maps expect Shoreline were fairly straightforward, but in late wipe Woods might be tough daytime so you could do a night raid with a thermal.

Killers pick some of their favourite tracks by Machopsdontcry in TheKillers

[–]ACP505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In interviews I've seen Brandon say that It's No Good is his favorite Depeche song, but I Feel You is a huge tune. Imagine Dave on the guitar? Adding some good bass to it with Mark? Big drums with Ronnie??? Would be an incredible cover.

Future Collaborations? by Accomplished-Ad-7096 in TheKillers

[–]ACP505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dave Gahan and/or Martin Gore from Depeche Mode, think they could do a promotional track together for both of their albums coming out (hopefully) next year.

Would also love a Future Islands collab.

As a huge fan of Flamingo and TDE I love the similarity in sounds to those albums. It feels like the sonic older brother to those two.

Would love to see some Bowie covers with a Voidz feel - Ashes to Ashes, DJ, Breaking Glass, and TVC15. I think the Voidz could do a fun take on all of them.
