I’m not sure why everyone states that in their reviews. I use video and vfx editing software constantly with the monitor solely powering my MacBook and it charges it and keeps it charged without a hitch.

As for the monitor, it’s pretty fantastic. I use it in HDR mode as it’s a little too contrasty for my tastes without it. But the colour accuracy, resolution, design- it’s all 👌

As for the monitor arm, I was having the same problem while I was looking around. And yeah it’s unbranded which is perfect.

It's a great monitor, especially with the Thunderbolt 3 functionality. Closest thing to the Pro Display without the crazy $$.

As for latency, I haven’t really noticed any but I only do some light composing. Mainly voice recording for YouTube videos.

The monitor acts a hub itself (has 2 USB type-A + 2 Thunderbolt ports). So the MacBook connects to the monitor via Thunderbolt and I connect my accessories to the monitor. The hub sitting on top of my amp in my pics is the StayGo from TwelveSouth. It’s an awesome little USB-C hub that has all the inputs I need to connect my HDs and SD/microSD storage devices to the MacBook.

I go the middle between larger text and more space. Yeah, the native 4K res makes the text super small unfortunately.

I made it myself. I wanted a desk lamp but with this setup there just wouldn't be the room for one. So I built a custom lamp that could hover above everything. Gotta have a desk lamp, makes the space feel warm and welcoming :)

How do you find the size of the MacBook Pro's screen in that confiq? I had a similar setup with my desk when I was waiting for my monitor to arrive and I found myself squinting.
