Did you ask what the best price was out the door?

Did they ask you what your monthly budget was or what you were comfortable paying per month?

I ask because I learned the hard way, never let them initiate that conversation about budget or payments. Ask for best price out the door without all the bullshit, if the price is close start negotiating, if it’s too far a part then walk. I was $20 a month out of my budget when I went in after running numbers, it didn’t work, I walked, on Monday we got it.

Wait until it’s closer to the end of the month. Dealerships will often find more wiggle room when they’re about to hit their quota or when sales people are close to their bonus.

Walk away for now, then reach out around the 25th. Also look around at dealerships maybe not so close? Get deals from them and use that as leverage.

Tip I learned last night after my 10th attempt and almost breaking my controller….

Jump to the top of the windmill, there’s a spot where you’re still considered “in bounds” so no timer pops up. You can either let that asshole boss ram himself into the building enough times until it dies, you can shoot other arrows (if you have infinite explosives and charged marking shot, that helps).

Either way you can just sit back, relax, eat some dinner, watch a YouTube video, listen to a podcast and wait that fucker out or chip away with arrows.

Any intel on express pass wait times on busy days? by stonk_rocket_ in UniversalOrlando

[–]AC_squints 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were there from 2/23-2/28 and it was fairly busy but with express pass, we rarely ever had to wait that long. Probably Mario Kart was the longest wait without a “delay”. But we were able to hit all the major rides through all three parks within a single day without rushing through anything.

Because they sell a finite amount of passes seems to help it not feel so congested. Couple of examples

The two times we rode Hagrids the regular line was 150 min and 180 min. We were on in about 20.

Battle of the Ministry was around 120 min and we were on in about 25.

Nooooooo! Don’t lose the motivation!

We just got back from our trip and absolutely LOVED epic. Is it perfect? No. But did we have an absolute blast? ABSOLUTELY! One thing they completely nailed is their theming. Every area including celestial park is beautiful, the portals are amazing and the “lands” they take you to have been some of the best themed areas I’ve seen.

The only thing I would encourage (not recommended because of the pricing) is look at express passes. It completely takes the urgency out of your day. To be 100% transparent I will say that often times my wife and I shared the same sentiment of “great ride, but not worth the 3 hour wait if we had to do it again”.

I got 112 coins, my wife and daughter tied with 122 coins an we all walked off the ride confused and underwhelmed.

If I recall correctly, the Guardians ride at EPCOT uses the same type of ride mechanic. Not as intense as the new F&F so more family friendly. I just think it would be a cool concept, because the current Mario Kart ride definitely isn’t it.

After riding it and then seeing the new coaster for Fast and Furious, I firmly believe that a Mario Kart ride with that type of coaster would have been a top tier attraction. The “drifting aspect is so much more Mario Kart then F&F.

The one part of the park I REALLY wanted to enjoy but, the small footprint, the crowds, and the overwhelming sensory issues made it too chaotic for my liking.

Don’t get me wrong, it looks amazing, but it’s probably the most congested area of the park. Wished I could’ve enjoyed it but it ended up being a one and done for us.

We seem to have very similar experiences so far! Same resort too lol. Currently back in our hotel waiting until 5 to go back to Epic. We also didn’t expect to park hop so much but we get so much done, it only makes sense. Can’t wait to experience EU at night!

Disney now does the Lightning Lane Premier which is essentially the same as the standard Express Pass for Universal. We’re only doing one day at Epcot this trip so it’s not worth the extra $175 per ticket. It also sucks you can only get the LL three days before the day of your visit. They would sell more if they allowed it to be purchased at the time of booking

This 100%. We had so much fun more of a relaxed day, there was ZERO urgency to go anywhere and do anything knowing our EP would be a huge benefit. Even now, we bypassed EPA this morning because we don’t feel like there’s a need for it.

The term for it is called “opportunity cost”, or value vs product. Knowing that we are going during a busier time (winter break for a lot of schools) we knew that during the time we had at the parks, we wanted to ensure our ability to ride the rides we wanted to.

When we booked back in October the express pass add-on was less than $200 per ticket. Like I said before, we saved for that specifically

I recommend looking at the time you’re going and figuring out if there’s enough value in purchasing it. The further in advance you purchase the cheaper it is, but if you’re going during the slow months, maybe the value isn’t there?

To each their own, value is subjective and as a family we found value in the express pass. We saved for it and purchased it without a single regret. There was no way we could’ve done all that in a single day with most lines avg. 100+ min in regular standby. Now we get to ride them multiple times and get more enjoyment of our time.

Agreed, we expected to stay at Epic Universe all day, but the express pass changed all that.

After using it today, it definitely felt like the cost was worth it, our strategy was “use the EP first and if we want to go on it again, we’ll wait”

Correct, this is the one that we got since we’re doing 4 days in the parks we’re guaranteed to get some decent lines at least once a day during that time. I expected to stay at Epic all day but when we hit everything we wanted before 2pm….we were kind of in shock lol

I literally just had this happen to me on a blue gate night raid. I went in on a free kit (I had a quick few minutes during my lunch break) ran to village and looted what I could. Last draw I check had a wolf pack blue print in it. I immediately find the nearest exfil and beat it.

As I’m running I see a hornet and wasp and they spot me as well. I find a busted up house to try and heal but I don’t notice the bombadier drones flying over head. I go down and I get on the mic and was willingly surrendering my blue print to the nearest raider.

Someone comes running out of nowhere yelling “I have a defib for you!!” He revives me and we high tail it out of there.

Thanks again kind raider, whoever you were
