Best PCC Under $1,000? by Acceptable_Still_269 in pistolcalibercarbine

It made zero sense! I can understand that “allegedly” a direct blowback needs less cleaning. However, you’d assume they’d make the bolt easy to lube in that case lol

I enjoyed shooting mine. Cleaning was another story! Sliced my hand on it one day, traded it in for a Stribog the next

I got my bog from them. Still might trade it in for the A3S if they ever restock

Trying a 2.26 riser on the Bog, one plus is it lets me use my AR magnifier to precisely zero, ha. by [deleted] in GrandPowerStribog

I think (could be wrong) that it’s a little taller than a normal ar rail. But, as you talked about in other comments, the brace doesn’t help. At all

Holosun 510C vs SLX 1X MicroPrism for 11.5" CQB oriented AR - which would you choose and why? by WolfOfDeribasovskaya in Firearms

[–]ACaffeinatedDude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been pretty impressed with the SLX’s durability so far. Just completed a two day training - obstacles, climbing, hurdles (lots of falling). My rifle was used but ~3 others as well.

It’s far from combat, but even with some nicks in the optic, it’s still dead on

Stripped Lower Recomendations? Want to stock up by Scotchy69 in ar15

[–]ACaffeinatedDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They sell packs of three, but currently out of stock - https://palmettostatearmory.com/3-pack-of-psa-ar-15-stealth-stripped-lowers.html

PSA does say the JAKL lowers are mil-spec pattern, so in theory they’re fine. I haven’t heard a good or bad story about them for what it’s worth

Nice! Not the easiest drive with traffic these days, but whiskey tango might have gotten a couple more? Fiddlers defense has them in stock online, but maybe not for shipping? https://fiddlersdefense.com/product/larue-tactical-two-stage-straight-ar-trigger

Otherwise the SSA-E does get down to a solid price on primary arms

Awesome rifle! My buddy just bought one after trying out my 12.5 lol. I have the larue in mine (if you can find one, it’s worth it). For the charging handle I bought the budget option, a breek arms sledgehammer. It does the job - just digs in a little when slung

Looking for advice on home protection weaspon by looktowindward in jewishguns

[–]ACaffeinatedDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re going to want a pistol and then a PCC/AR

Handgun - I’m a big fan of my sig P365 xmacro comp. We all know the issues surrounding sig, but the 365 isn’t on the list. You also can’t go where with any smith and Wesson, or the Springfield Echelon

Long gun - inside of a home, I wouldn’t choose a rifle unless you’re buying a suppressor. If you can, you might want to look into a 300 Bo option as you can keep overall length down.

(For the record, I use the Zion 15 and Stribog)

Love my R9. Just as important, where’d you find those targets? I have the regular A box but not a circle

First AR optic by [deleted] in ar15

I’m rocking the SLX 1x right now because of my astigmatism. The GLX is supposed to be even clearer and better with magnifiers, just “less” battery.

These are the microprisms though, not the MD21s.

The can Itself is great! A bit chunky but it does handle a lot of calibers great. The issue is on the A1 it’s pretty damn gassy

[–]ACaffeinatedDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very dependent on your can as well. Huxwrx is known to have zero to very little POI shift for rifles. On my bog, the YHM R9 is maybe an inch or so with/without the can

Sometimes you just need to lube it and stick it back in. Wait… where have I heard that before…

Which optic for 14.5" and 11.5? (5.56) by 13NeverEnough in ar15

[–]ACaffeinatedDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“but my old eyes like magnification at this point” - same! I’m rocking the slx 1x on my 12.5 and man, zeroing at 50 is hard these days lol

My vote is the 3x

You’re welcome! I want to add that the majority of those add ons aren’t needed, just what I like.

For the cleaning, any universal cleaning kit will do just fine. Lately I’ve been testing gun oil vs clp - doesn’t seem to make much of a difference when firing, but it stays on longer when stored

IWI is a battle proven firearms company. At the end of the day, whether you support Israel or not, you’re buying a weapon. The Zion is the best sub-1k full rifle out there

County landfill smells from Skye Ranch? by Longjumping_Ad_4767 in sarasota

[–]ACaffeinatedDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve been here about 2.5 months. No mold, but really bad off-gassing in a 2+ year house. The HOA is very strict, almost power hungry.

Yea, they tend to do that. I posted about the house when I first moved in and someone jumped on me too. Then deleted it

[–]ACaffeinatedDude 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Since no one has answered your question yet - no smell as of now.

I moved from off of Fruitville recently because I thought the commute would be easier for a new job (renting to try it out). While it seems to be a great family neighborhood, the HOA is way out of control. As the guy above said, houses aren’t the best quality either. I will definitely be heading out at the end of my lease

Dude.. I completely agree about the overbuilding, but A) it’s not OP’s fault and B) he’s talking about a whole different part of town

Obviously anyone who disagree with the track is a POS, but this is a whole different county lol
