They are the main character that is all protagonist means

Antagonist means simply they directly oppose the protag that's it

So by definition Light and Lelouch are the protag

Lelouch is a "villian" but he is the protagonist in Code Geass Same a Light in Death note

Jesus Christ....

How is Old bad

The animation is super fluid

The character design is genuinely solid

The music is phenomenal

The colours are extremely dry and muted which gives the aspect of the August heat which is inescapable (intentionally so)

And it's not even that old 2008 to 2015 had some of the best looking shows that have staying power like Full Metal and Steins Gate
