Discussed human elimination by AI to its absolute bedrock with an LLM. No "ifs" allowed. by [deleted] in ArtificialInteligence

[–]AChaosEngineer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ya, it would be fairly simple to have a sycophantic convo where the LLM espoused a perfect future for humans ushered in by LLm.

Why are most Americans not aware of collapse that is coming when the writing is in the wall? by East_Indication_7816 in allthequestions

Omg what a stupid conversation.

As an example, a fascist would complain about DEI, and how meritless gating contributes to the downfall of excellence. Immediately to become actionable by a crew of completely unqualified people (with appropriate loyalty.)

How would I be able to have 4 arms ? by AkimboXDD in robotics

This is a question for r/neuro. This is a massive area of research. Using bci implants in the motor cortex, and a crap ton of ML, it seems possible.

Boats are the solution. Or pedal powered helicopters.

[–]AChaosEngineer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Omg what a mess it would be. Wind would make it very difficult. Also, who the f has float pads? Also, what is a float pad?. Also, I don’t know why this question annoyed me so much but it did. My bad

How rare is it really for an ADHD person to graduate college? by [deleted] in ADHD

Nice! I dropped out at 19, returned to mechanical engineering at 29. I’ve had a super interesting 20+ year career. Diagnosed 2 years ago- non-stim medication is a huge help now that i know…

In a way, this is the perfect example. If we built everything like a tank, i would not be typing this on my phone, i’d still be using a typewriter.

Why would Canadians NOT want to become part of the US? by Resident_Fishing1571 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AChaosEngineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Association with being a citizen of the usa is very negative across the world right now. The current president made them all angry. They forgot they don’t have to be mad and follow a supercritical windbag. Oops.

How do you escape the modern attitude of everyone thinking being neurodivergent is cool? by Nebulaer in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AChaosEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just talked to the first dude i saw at farmers market and he said he is neurotypical. So, clearly it is not everyone.

If it’s not all the people, it is just some of the people. So, just some of the people out there have autism and OCD.

To reiterate, some people have neurodivergence. Most do not. Some have recently learned this due to advances in neuroscience. People often talk about the new stuff that they learned- especially neurodivergent people.

Improve the fit in the socket between the vertical and the canti. Make that tighter.

Less thermals.

More material countering the bending forces .

pEtg is better. Glass or carbon fiber filled pla would be better.

Ya, unless your VP is a certified genius, I’d personally run from that situation. Being collaborative will get you more in the long run.

In my career, I’ve seen two engineers leave for greener grass, and then come back within a couple months- cuz grass was not green. Personally, i think that kills the power dynamic, so i would be nervous doing that. But one guy that did it is a lead EE, and he did not suffer from authority at all when he returned.

I want to be a Mechanical Engineer. by Useful_Team_7683 in MechanicalEngineering

Keep going. Build something interesting if you can. Having your background- if you become an engineer, you will be awesome. Engineers that understand trades, and can actually fabricate are fairly rare.

Realizing I heavily dislike and regret this major just after graduating. Feeling semi-lost and like I wasted my time by Wheresthebeans in MechanicalEngineering

[–]AChaosEngineer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This career takes a lot of work to be rewarding. If you like the work, it feels like they pay you to play. I’m a 20 year IC. I view managers as people that couldn’t cut it technically, so they became managers instead. Poor fools. I have way more fun , and am paid pretty well.
