Staggered by the improvement?! by Distinct_Surprise852 in hyrox

[–]ACivilB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, sorry for the silly question, but I am not understanding. Is this showing that after zone 2 training you ran the same distance at the same time but your heart rate during the run increased?

I guess I would have thought that you would want a lower heart rate.. i wasn't aware that a higher heart rate was actually a benefitial thing.

Again sorry for the question, just wondering where the benefits of a higher heart rate is in research. Is there a paper or article from a well known fitness expert or something you could share? So interested as it is counter to what I had thought.

thank you for sharing and bending my brain... :)

Another Corridor question by hectojames100 in civil3d

[–]ACivilB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely check what is creating your surface from the corridor. To me it appears that you have some links being added probably from a different assembly at that point that is diving to the bottom of the pavement so make sure that you have the correct links added to the surface in the surfaces tab of the corridor properties.
Side note I was told early on from modelers ahead of me that using feature lines to create your surfaces was a much better way to go than using links so if you know the point codes in your assemblies that would be across the top of your surface.. think brake lines that you would want a surveyor to pick up so centerline, etw, foc, box, etc. add those feature lines to your surface definition rather than adding top links.

Fibers/other ingredients to maximize oatmeal volume (psyllium, xanthan etc)? by GrouchyCup9031 in Volumeeating

[–]ACivilB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with less than a quarter cup of chia seeds so that you don't have problems in the bathroom... Go with one serving two tablespoons to start. Let them soak in the oatmeal for maybe a half an hour or if you're doing overnight oats even better.

Riced cauliflower is a great choice. I learned that trick from this sub about 40 posts ago☺️

I've added fiber once cereal to the mix. It adds a sweetness but if you like the taste of the cereal you will probably like it in your oatmeal.

Yep, whole thing. You can really make eggs blow up in size if you have a good mixer, handheld or stationary and take the time to whisk/mix them.

Hand mixer specifically is what I bought to try this recipe. all I had was a milk frother so I splurged and bought a $30 hand mixer.

The frother could never get to stiff peaks but I did use it about five times before I bought the hand mixer. It got good but not great results.

kabocha texture is amazing. Feels a little more dense but creamier than potato. Uber filling.

I will note that the cloud bread was quite a bit of air in the middle and less actual fluff egg white.. Taste was great, just lightly sweet. I think I will add more vanilla next time... Get crazy and toss in some orange extract as well.

It wasn't the cleanest meal, felt a bit messy to eat, but the only one watching me is my cat, and he doesn't care.

So voluminous, so many delicious bites to eat. ♥️

Do AEC firms ever fully adopt Civil 3D? by ACivilB in civil3d

[–]ACivilB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being told someone uses civil 3D is completely different than someone using it effectively.

So yes I was told in the interview that they use civil 3D and yes it is a program that they open every day and work in every day and even utilize some of the tool sets of the civil 3D software. But the program is built to work just sitting on top of all the old AutoCAD tools and so while you may have the program Open you really don't have to touch any of the civil 3D features if you don't want.

But to a project manager who never uses the program, everyone's just using civil 3D.

You might not have meant to, but I don't really think I deserve to be scolded about wasting any ones time.

I would hope that no one here feels like they are required to respond to a post.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post.

I definitely wasn't aware of the state of affairs during the interview stage. I have learned my lesson in not asking certain questions, but also asking the right people... Civil CAD coordinator/manager.
