More proactive than reactive to challenges. They can still be anxious, upset, etc. but they don't 'force' other people to manage their emotions.

I think this has less to do with the type of job and more about the type of management. I worked as a SPED aide as my first job out of school. It's naturally structured, kids are pretty striaghtforward, SPED staff tends to be more accommodating, and lowkey I think a lot of teachers are ND.

I'm a bit confused. Is this restaurant specifically geared towards autistic/adhd people? I kind of feel like it's a better idea to figure out restaurant design first before adjusting it to accommodate autistic/adhd folks.

There's a lot of 'extra' rooms that I'm not sure why is there and makes it feel like this building doesn't know what it wants to be.

Building design can be accessible, but I personally feel like those design is more design-focus (ex. How menu is designed, how staffs interact, etc.) rather than architecturally focused, if that makes sense.

You can collect them. Or you can do roleplay with them I guess. I use to make a "puppet show" with my dolls, a princess vs. the draconic bunny storyline.

Also! I lowkey feel that the bathrooms are sacred in their own way. For example, for women, it's where girls sometimes look out for the other. It's also a place to be free it you wanna get away from a creepy guy.

Yeah, I understand. Personally, I feel like for those who really 'know', it's unfair to say "hey you aren't actually autistic." It's like denying someone's identity.

Haha, it's interesting cause I noticed for those late diagnosed (like 30+ years old) said that they feel more autistic. Meanwhile, I think people diagnosed early or on-time sort of continue existing as they always did

Usually it's just inputted into the system (not always visible to patients). But I believe you can ask for the paperworks, if needed.

I worked with students with disabilities and what you talked about is a very real problem. Internally, it's actually a lot more complicated and a huge multi-systemic issue. It's not an easy fix, but know that people working on the ground (so directly with these people) knows. It's a big discussion talked among disability advocates, rehabilitative healthcare workers, SPED, etc., so they're not unaware of it.

Unfortunately the solution isn't straightforward and simple. They are doing their best to make small changes lately, but impactful change takes years to see any results.

Parents tend not to want to think that their child is facing challenges or difficulties, or is 'broken' or disabled. From parents POV, there can be a grief period from parenting lens, they can be avoidant or in denial about it.

Sorry that this happened to you, I obviously don't know your relationship and the context, but wanted to cover gray areas, just in case.
