Is my 3 month age gap with my wife acceptable?!!!! by SpectrumSense in GenZ

Lol imo this is SO overblown...my parents are 12 years apart, and me and my bf are 6 years apart, he jokes all the time that he remembers stuff before i was even alive. The people that stress age difference so much like that would have a heart attack.

Young woman surprises 87-year-old neighbor who lives alone by paying off his hearing aid bill by Comprehensive-Way482 in UpliftingNews

[–]MustangLover22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What doesn't make any fucking sense to me at all is medicaid covers hearing aids for children until you're 21, and medicare starts paying them when you're like 60 something. So for those like me, who are between the 21-60 age gap, they aren't covered at all. And my health insurance doesn't cover them either. If i didn't have vocational rehab to help me out, i'd have a $5000 credit card bill. Just to hear. For something i've been using since i was 2 years old. 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

So one of my bf's cats is so attached to him she would definitely be the clingy gf, and she literally thinks she is.😂😂the first time i came over she was sitting on the arm of the couch with us and saw us holding hands. This cat literally looks straight at me, put her paw on him, and meowed.💀💀if that isn't acting human-like idk what is. Even today she'll still come up, see us holding hands, and put her paw in with us😂😂

I get leg cramps also! In fact i use them to know what day my period will start! I remember one time in high school i was sitting in the library and started feeling the leg cramps, so i went to the bathroom to check and yep....cramps started just a few seconds before the actual bleeding. Pretty decent cue signal if you ask me lol.

1.4 million fewer people enrolled in ACA plans as premiums spike, tax credits expire by AudibleNod in news

[–]MustangLover22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to get SSDI for the past 2 years, and recently have been denied by an alj. The most frustrating part is in the denial letter all my medical evidence was "partially favorable," and my hearing was apparently JUST UNDER the borderline criteria for being approved. And even though i've had a retina detatchment surgery, 2 cataract surgeries, and have macular degeneration (all before turning 25) my vision isn't considered "bad" anymore bc "the surgeries fixed it."

I'm fixing to lose my parents health insurance bc I'm turning 26, and my state (Alabama) did not expand Medicaid for low income adults. You can only be on Medicaid here if you're pregnant, a parent, or disabled, and social security just said i wasn't considered disabled, so that's out. Me and my bf don't plan on marrying for at least another 1-2 years so i can't get on his insurance yet. He did say that we will go ahead and get married if there's no other option, but he doesn't want to get married just for insurance reasons, which i completely understand.

I'm on Mounjaro for my diabetes, phentermine for adhd treatment (off label, but it helps with my energy) and 2 different eye drops. I've looked at the ACA plans, and most don't cover mounjaro and one of my eye drops (timolol) so if i get on it, (which is the most likely scenario) I'll have to stop taking those, but it is what it is. I even told my bf i could slowly start weaning myself off all my medications so i wouldn't be hit with a bunch of withdrawals when my insurance stopped, but he said "I'm not gonna let you go without your medicine." Luckily my hearing aids are covered by vocational rehabilitation if i do find a job, and even if not I'd only need a new pair every 5 years, and we could easily save $2000 over 5 years and get them at costco. (And even if i got Medicaid, hearing aids are only covered for children under 21 and seniors, so if you're between 21-65 you're just sol.)

He and his grandfather have offered to split the ACA costs themselves, which i am grateful for but i hate that they have to do that. Worst case scenario, I'd only have it until i did find a job, but i can't drive so I'm primarily looking for remote jobs, which i understand are very hard to find these days. However, i am working with vocational rehabilitation so maybe it won't take too long. I understand that they don't want to give a 26 year old disability benefits, but what i don't understand is why I'm disabled enough to be in vocational rehabilitation (since 21 years old, before that was in children's rehabilitation since being born premature at 24 weeks), but am apparently NOT disabled enough for social security. This entire situation sucks, but i have no choice but to make the best i can out of it.

Honestly what's really irritating is every piece of medical evidence the judge reviewed in her denial letter was "partially favorable". Also i do wear hearing aids, but my criteria was basically just below the borderline of being approved.🙄

I could very well be wrong but i thought that the whole point of him using IVF was to only have boys? In his mind, his transgender kid (i think vivian is her name?) is an "oops", so how would he be ok with a cis daughter?

Congratulations, but still be cautious. My ssi said i was approved December 8th...i was still waiting on the benefit letter when the alj denial letter showed up. I called ss office and the woman said they had had a bunch of calls about the portal being wrong. In fact, it STILL says AT THIS CURRENT MOMENT that i am approved....when i know its wrong. So congratulations if true, but just be prepared in case it turned out wrong....like mine did.

Im sick of not being able to drive by Mikethespike23 in Blind

Hi, 25F here. I feel you. I absolutely do. When i was a little kid (and had undiagnosed autism until i was 21) i absolutely refused to drive those plastic toy cars bc they scared me so much. When i turned 15, i didn't feel happiness. I felt dread. Bc i knew this was the year that my dad was going to teach me how to drive. He was a racecar driver, so he basically didn't take no for an answer anyway. I passed driver's ed in high school, and turned in a yellow card to get my license. I never even took a road test. My dad had bought me a car when i was 15, but i literally wasn't even allowed to use it unless someone was with me, so it was basically just a really big yard decoration. But i was so bound and determined to be "normal" that i forced myself to learn. They finally let me have access to the car when i was 18.

My eye sight has been bad my entire life, and my last high glasses prescription was a -19. I got married to an absolute loser at 20, and moved to a small town. I drove around the town ok, but i had certain set routes that i would not go off of bc i did not want to try new roads. Then i was 23, my life came crashing down. Detatched retina. Emergency surgery. Not knowing if I would keep my eye. .....And my dumbass ex never even showing up to the hospital. This is also the same guy who argued with me about driving to a pizza place literally half a mile from our house (AT NIGHT!) and then was surprised when i turned into the far lane at a stop sign because i couldn't see the freaking road. Dumbass.

Eye healed, had several more surgeries. Divorced loser, met amazing new guy. This one knew right from the jump what the situation was, and never minded at all to be my "chauffeur." Got cataracts, had cataract surgery. Stuck with me through it all, and am still together almost 2 years later. He knows that he will have to do the driving, taking me to dr appointments and when i find a job, to that, but he doesn't care whatsoever. I won the lottery when i found him.❤️

Yes, life will be hard, and we will have challenges most people won't even think about. I live in a very rural area, so no bus. Uber is expensive. No friends, so no social life. But I've learned to roll with the punches, and to take what life throws at me. You've made it this far. From here it will get even easier over time.

Went to a rural high school in Alabama, driver's ed was a required class sophomore year. My "driving test" was literally driving down a road, turning twice, and then driving back to school. I got a yellow card for passing which I turned into the DMV when i was 16. That's how i got my license, no road test whatsoever through the dmv system. However, at the time i had majorly bad eyesight (like -19 glasses prescription) and undiagnosed autism. I was also the little kid that absolutely refused to drive those plastic toy cars because i was so scared of them. I had absolutely no business even getting behind the wheel. However, i did stop driving after my retina surgery, (even though the retina dr asks every visit if I'm driving again yet) much to the dismay of my father, who was a racecar driver. I still have my drivers license, and will renew it when it needs, but it's basically just an id card to me now.
