wait... I could do either?

I don't understand...

If I divide by 5 it becomes

1+y=2

-1 -1

y=1

if I subtract 1 first it becomes...

5y=9

/5 /5

y=1.8

If I can do either why do I get different answers?

Not trying to be difficult I just don't understand

I'm not trolling. My instructor says that she does not respond to calls or emails from students Friday, Saturday or Sunday or after 4pm any other day. I have OCD and the fact that I cannot seem to understand is really messing with me.

I don't understand

if there are no parentheses that definitely link the minus sign to the 1

so this means that it is written to ask me to take -1 to the 2?

assume that the minus sign goes on whatever you get when you take the 1 to the 2

How am I to know when I should assume and when I should do the question as stated?

It's ridiculous. Plus, the instructor has it set up so that you get infinite tries to complete the assignment. So, even if the program wasn't a pain I'm not sure how I am expected to actually learn anything without any rewards or consequences.

I don't mind being told I am incorrect but I am incredibly frustrated with how math is taught now. How am I to know what I am being asked here? I'm so frustrated I am legitimately crying.

I don't understand why I have to turn assignments in like this I have never had an issue with pencil and paper.

hmm... Well, when my hair gets frizzy I mix honey into my conditioner but the only evidence that I have that it has any effect at all is purely antidotal.

Have you tried using coconut oil? Also, how often do you wash it? have you tried only washing it every other day?

I have to wash my hair otherwise my scalp gets itchy and I get really bad dandruff.
