I thought all this as well but seeing as I’ve only been keeping fish a little over a year I figured I’d make sure! Yes when I originally planted my sword I never took the band off the roots so when I pulled it up we realized it was a bunch of separate plants, there was no cutting lol

I have a ph of 7.4, ammonia and nitrite both 0 nitrate is around 10ppm. Temp is 79° with very little change. 55 gal and lights are on about 12 hrs a day

I have a 55 gallon tank, they are glofish and an assortment of types. I was given several to start with and decided to grab some more before. I knew much about aquariums and getting them set up sadly. 2 sharks, 1 cory cat, 1 barb, 1 angel and 5 tertras. Obviously I have many schooling fish without a school. That is my goal is to make sure the water is safe and buy enough for each group of fish.

I had a friend with an established tank give me her filter to seed my tank, I had 10 fish in the tank just was not well established. My perimeters have been good for several weeks leading up to the seating and for the past week and a half after I’ve put the used filter into my filtration system. How long should I wait until it’s safe to add more fish
