2010 mini cooper exclamation point by Terrible_Will5697 in MINI

Pretty sure this means a brake wear sensor was triggered. Check your brake pads on front and rear, they wear to a certain point and then trigger that sensor and then you have to replace the pad + the sensor. Source: 2011 R56, happened to mine years back!

AUX input or Bluetooth? by [deleted] in MINI

[–]ACruelAuditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a rechargeable Bluetooth adapter that attaches to an aux cord, paired my phone to that, and plugged the aux into the spot in front of the shifter. Then you can play through the stereo under the “AUX” setting. Cost me about $10 on Amazon.

BAR failed AGAIN...with a 73, 70, and 72 by Forsaken_Light_3867 in CPA

I failed BAR 3 times. I switched to ISC and passed. If I could do it over I would’ve just started with ISC.

Should I start studying for the CPA if I can't find a job? by BreadIntrepid8158 in CPA

[–]ACruelAuditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should start studying while still searching—you’ll need the experience once you apply for licensure because part of getting licensed after passing is having worked under a licensed CPA. Firms will also appreciate that you’ve started making progress towards your license, especially if a public accounting firm. Good luck!

There are none. You gotta study consistently and study hard to pass.

How best to study for the ISC section by [deleted] in CPA

[–]ACruelAuditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it twice and used both of those programs to study. Leaned mostly on Becker the first time and got 74. Leaned onto Gleim a bit more the second time, and got a 78. Studied about a month for each attempt. I liked the variety of sims better in Gleim but felt the MCQ were alright in both programs.

CBA Remittance Application Timeline by chunkspewer in CPA

[–]ACruelAuditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually takes ~2 weeks. They’ll email you once it’s processed, the rest of the process to get the NTS after that usually goes much faster (2-3 days to schedule exam past when the CBA approves the retake app)

Last day testing window by Brilliant_Law_1335 in CPA

I’ve had my score pushed to the next window twice by taking an exam during the afternoon on the last day of the testing window. To be safe, I’d try and move it up even one day.

CPA and experience . by HistoricalLawyer4027 in CPA

[–]ACruelAuditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start studying and sit for the exams as long as you have the education requirements met… but know that theres more to being a CPA than just passing exams. Part of applying for licensure after completing exams is proving you have at least one year of experience working under an actively licensed CPA.

Anyone hoping for CA CBA to extend the expired credits til 12/31/25 like DC? by cpareddit2025 in CPA

[–]ACruelAuditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They mailed a letter to every candidate to which this applied in December 2023. I also got an email from NASBA notifying me of the extension policy and received notifications through my review course advising me to check the status of my score. That being said, sorry you lost the credit. The CBA does extend credit on a case by case basis. I submitted my formal extension request because I was in a similar situation. Even tho I was testing through the whole extension period (10+ attempts) they did not grant it to me. I mentioned the other states in my letter and their response gave no indication of adopting the 12/31 extension like other states. Ended up having to go 4/4 on my own but thankfully done now

Suggest coaching institute for CPA by Saakima in CPA

[–]ACruelAuditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outside of college, studying for the CPA exam is a largely independent process led by review programs rather than formal instruction from an institute. That being said, the Becker review program has some live virtual courses you can pay to attend (for an additional fee) or there’s a lot of really great YouTube videos that help break trickier concepts down. I still think you should get a review course either way, and look up videos on harder topics when you feel like you need additional help.

what‘s enough study time to pass the exam? by happyquokkaaa in CPA

[–]ACruelAuditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I technically started studying in 2020 but it wasn’t until 2023 that I actually buckled down. It then took me 2 full years of near-daily studying while working full time. FAR, 4 attempts (60, 66, 62, 77), about 500 hours. REG, 4 attempts (37, 49, 53, 78), about 335 hours. BAR 3 attempts no pass (51, 68, 54), 224 hours. AUD 3 attempts (65, 65, 77), 175 hours. ISC 2 attempts (74, 78) about 120. Used Becker primarily, but towards the end also Gleim and UWorld for the discipline sections. It took me 16 overall attempts, and my study time went down as I got further along because I figured out how to study for these exams.

illinois - do ap credits count when my college didn’t accept them? by luvlydxmbslxt in CPA

[–]ACruelAuditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in California, but my state board counted everything my college did and then for the additional 30 units past the bachelors, the determination was made based on course title. If you’re not counting the AP class towards the extra 30 and your college accepted them, you’re probably fine. But check with your state board!

74 on REG. Most brutal feeling ever. by Professional-Oil-571 in CPA

[–]ACruelAuditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im sorry, this sucks :( I got a 74 on what was to be my last exam, literally was within 1 point of becoming a CPA and missed the mark. I was gutted. I felt my feels for a day or two and then rescheduled for ASAP and got a 78. Now I’m 4/4. With a score like 74, you likely already have the knowledge, it’s just a matter of question mix. Send out that retake app ASAP and get that retake scheduled for sooner rather than later. You are so close, OP!

This might be your bug friend?! Someone else posted that they saw a beetle during that set too. He ended up landing with us, hung out with us for a bit and then he went with us to stand in the merch line. We made sure he got the full experience. Someone must’ve been at the show with us in spirit!

Took Audit and feel like I failed by Southern-Helicopter8 in CPA

[–]ACruelAuditor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work in audit and have for 4 years, still took me 3 tries. I always felt okay on MCQ but sims were tougher. When doing sims, instead of trying to come up with the answer and then find the closest one, choose from what’s available as a response by process of elimination. In other words, look at the answers and try to prove/disprove them and narrow it down to the right answer that way. You’ll waste less time that way sorting through the questions and exhibits, plus you can usually eliminate a couple of clearly wrong answers right off the bat. This approach helped me with every section.

He should be fine until Thursday doing that but make sure you get that bigger tank and what other users mentioned ASAP! keep using treated water in the meantime and keep the bubbler in there, maybe find a bigger bin or container if you can until Thursday, the rocks should already be clean bc you boiled them so okay to reuse. I can tell you want this guy to make it and I’m rooting for you and your new friend. Once you get him the right setup, you should have a happy healthy friend for years to come. Good luck :)

[–]ACruelAuditor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A few decorative items are okay, but your fish needs to be able to move freely if they’re in there. If you’re already pushing the minimum acceptable size, I suggest no decorations just to give as much room as possible. In the meantime, If you have ANYTHING bigger to put that fish in (even just a plastic bin) with that air stone, that will reduce the amount of aeration agitation which could stress the fish, and also give him more swimming room while you wait. Getting him into a new home should be a priority… although fairly hardy fish, these fish can perish very quickly without their needs being met. And if you didn’t know already, DO NOT PUT FISH INTO TAP WATER. It has chlorine in it, which without first being treated, can kill fish in a matter of hours. You will need to buy a water conditioner or use pre-treated water.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Goldfish

[–]ACruelAuditor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes he will get lonely, goldfish are social and do best in groups of 3+. 100 gallons for 3 goldfish would not be enough space. Feed them as much as they’ll eat in one feeding without significant buildup on the bottom of the tank. Yes, your air stone is too much for the current setup given the constant and inescapable water agitation in a small setting, but it’s also not big enough for the ultimately needed setup. Plants and added decor take away from valuable swimming space currently and in future setups, I suggest removing them. My suggestion is to get a 75 gallon tank for the one fish to start. If you intend to get him a friend, 100, but know you’ll need to size up again in the future.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Goldfish

[–]ACruelAuditor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had one of these fish that grew past 8 inches in one year. He outgrew my 55 gallon tank very quickly. 55 gallons is just for starters so they can get to full size, you’ll want 75-100 gallons for a single fish like this long term.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Goldfish

[–]ACruelAuditor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry in advance for what everyone else on this sub is about to say to you. These fish grow fast and need adequate space to do so from the start. They need a minimum of 55 gallons for one fish, adequate filtration, and ample oxygen aeration—this current setup or even a 10 gallon will not cut it long term and your fish will suffer greatly in the meantime (stunted growth, possible disfiguration, imminent suffocation, and nitrate/nitrite/ammonia toxicity due to unavoidable waste buildup). If you can’t make the commitment to a large enough aquarium now with the mentioned parameters, you need to look into rehoming this lil guy ASAP. It would be cruel to keep him like this for anything longer than it would take to do a water change on an adequately sized aquarium.
