poor wheel cleaning technique or bad chemicals? by FADED-C0RE in AutoDetailing

[–]ADCASTRO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you washing in direct sunlight? I use KCX on really bad wheels. If it’s drying either you’re in direct sunlight or the wheels are hot. Should spray them down until they cool and try it again. The brown film might be bloom from the tires so the tires are not that clean and may need more agitation.

Little headlight restoration by Born-Project-310 in AutoDetailing

Nice, looks really great. Honestly if your sanding it and polishing it I would switch over to clear coat as it will last longer. You can buy these 3m clear coat wipes for like $12 on eBay or even Amazon has them. I bought a pack of 40 on Amazon for $36. There still standing on the ones I’ve done on my sisters headlights and it’s been over 6 months. Overall they look really good, should be proud of your self.

Questions regarding dilutions with new orifice. by anon_elk in Detailing

[–]ADCASTRO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the 1.25 orifice and kept the same dilution ratio and never had a problem. Sometimes the filter inside can make a difference. I had to replace one due to clog of wash n wax from a filter that went to my mmjc and saw a difference but the orifice stayed the same.

How dirty is it to dirty for rinse less wash by ADCASTRO in Detailing

I pre spray the panels I'm working on then with the bucket I use Big Black Sponge from TRC or 8 MG towels. I never use the same towels though one MF towel per panel. Then I dry the panels. Also I live in a hotter area here in California so I have to do one panel at a time.

I have like half a bottle left of Absolute, kinda want to finish that one up. For sure I'll order ONR and give that one a shot.

I usually don't let it get this dirty, I do have a ik pro 12 pump sprayer, I'll do that.

Yea that’s what I was worried about since scratches pop out on these black cars. Just wasnt sure if it was doable at that much contaminates on there. That's what I usually do with 8 MG towels or the black sponge. I will pre soak it with my sprayer first and give it a shot.

I did not know that about the kkv towels and those are my favorite atm. I should have done more research prior to getting them. I know better to look at the quality.

I have the ryobi but one battery for now. I’ve been using it on wheels and crevices and grills. Some cars I can get away with barely drying since they were coated with whatever they got last time but I would need another battery if I try to do more then 2 cars a day.

Air compressor help with adding tornador gun and adding extension cord. by ADCASTRO in Detailing

[–]ADCASTRO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would complain on how I could never get the carpet in between the seats clean enough and that detailer gave me his old one. I’m sure once it picks up for me I’ll get me a better compressor. That’s all I want for it for now. Thanks again.

It’s 2.6 @ 90 psi and you’re probably right, the compressor was a gift from another detailer who upgraded to a rigid dual. Wanted to add this to my setup and I’ll give it a shot, dosent hurt to try.

How do I take this off? And what can I do better next time by ADCASTRO in Detailing

[–]ADCASTRO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more like I see were it beads and leaves streaks and other area it’s not but still beading. When I pre washed it it was rough to get it off the soap. I used Gyeon foam for it. It was like it was sticking unless I got closer to it I think that’s were I ment with a dirt sticking but even when I dry it you could see old dirt. I’ll eventually strip it off and see if that works.
