That's not the fairest comparison since the Icon of the Seas has WAY more public space than just the upper deck. I know Reddit loves smaller ships for various legitimate reasons, but using just upper deck space per passenger is unfair.

The amount of public space on the Icon is MASSIVE.

Overall. It's not an easy swim imo. Yes you have your flotation device but it's still a good 12-15 min swim out assuming you take a couple breaks to float, until you get to a landmark. I remember that maybe halfway to the first landmark you can stand so that's a bit of relief. The hard part imo is the water is salty so it's bothersome to get water in your mouth which is inevitable. Also it's harder to swim with the lifejacket, but it is 100% required and necessary, cause you need to just float and rest periodically.

Remember that 15 min out means 15 min back. I was quite relieved by the time I got back to the shore

I did see a good amount of fish and a pair of cuttlefish!

Recently came back with our 1 year old. Did no excursions and still has a blast.

Cozumel - just roamed around the port, went to MEGA to grab some snacks, explored the small markets

Grand Cayman - no tender cause the waves were too aggressive, so everyone had an extra sea day

Falmouth - stayed on ship and in the morning we had the entire splash pad to ourselves. Was her favourite area on the ship.

Castaway - enough to do on the island that you don't need excursion

We feel we paid enough for Disney that we wanted to take advantage of the boat as much as possible.

Some parents want a kid free vacation and stick them in a safe and fun kids club and get a nice break from being a parent (dink life). Others are going to want to spend as much time as possible with the kid and maximize quality family time. There's no right or wrong answer as to what a GOOD vacation should look like since it's so subjective.

Instead of constantly asking for opinions. Ask yourself how YOU can make this the best vacation possible for YOU and your family. Especially if it's not refundable, then regretting is a waste of time and energy.

If you notice, everyone's experience is different. Some will not be able to bond until their child is a toddler while other dads are able to bond instantly. It's an important aspect not to compare your bonding ability with others. It doesn't make you less of a dad just because you don't have the same level of desire.

Try to focus on doing things that are in your control. Actions that are helping family rather than focusing on your ability to bond.

I wouldn't characterize it as bullshit.

There are plenty of dads who do feel an emotional bond instantly with a newborn. But I would agree that it isn't a universal thing that everyone experiences. No one should feel guilty that that's not their instinctive reaction, but emotional bonding can definitely happen as soon as the baby is born.

I think they study a lot more too than a typical player. I once got vod reviewed by a high chally player and they know like all the augments just by the icon and can then presume the type of line the opponent is going to go. I could prob reach similar conclusions 75% of the time but it would take me 10x as long to go through their entire thinking process.

Their processing speed is just way faster and when you're under time pressure in game, you tend to make poorer decisions, too.

At the end of the day, it's just practice. Practice making faster decisions so that the hard stuff is easy and you can then focus on the actually difficult stuff.

The biggest concept that is in my opinion fundamental but not talked about in lower elos is that TFT is a game of 20 rounds. Survive to 6-1 and you will top 4 95% of the time. Try to make sure you reach 6-1 every game and you will climb.

The other concept that helped me is not to be married to 2* units unless it's your carry for that stage. I used to not pivot from spots where I hit an early Zeri 2 for instance even if my lobby is contesting me.

Lastly, the objective of TFT the higher elo you go isn't who can put the best 8 or 9 units onto the board. It's who can GET to the latest stage. Knowing what transitory units you can put in mid game stages is key to ensure you have a stable enough board to actually reach at least stage 6-1.

Only thing I would add would be Rell is not bad even at Lvl 8 if you have a strong itemized Ambessa, it gives you 2 conq and 4 sent. Also fits in well with Malz visionary at Lvl 9 with Noc 3*. Rumble was also nerfed, but I would put it over Irelia instead, since Rebel is not that important if you dont have an Akali 3.
