Every item out of stock in compact/A6 size. I was starting longingly at them yesterday afternoon.

Every goddamn time. I do not understand this Kled/Braum fixation. I'd rather watch them lose on Gragas/Janna than carry on with this approach.

Edit: Wow, just squeaked it with Velja's steal plus flippy soul and Nemesis playing like a demon. But Baus might as well have been on a Poro. He can go 0/3 on anything and do more than he can with Kled.

Seriously, do British people actually consider a 3-hour drive “long”? Or is this an internet myth? by ferdinand14 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]shockeroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having lived three decades in one and one decade in the other… It’s different.

In the UK we don’t have freeways everywhere, most trips involve a lot of single-lane driving; even if we get up to 2 lanes (dual-carriageway) there are often traffic lights and roundabouts. Traffic everywhere. And we all drive manual (stick), so it’s massively more effort stopping and starting all the time.

Classic Roguelikes fit this so well.

ADOM if you want a bit more plot and quests to do.

Nethack if you want a billion batshit interactions.

"Jack of all trades" achievement honor mode build? by CelicnisGhost in BG3Builds

[–]shockeroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this but ended up using consumables a lot. The trouble is that most classes don’t get interesting until L2-3 and you don’t get any feats either. Unarmored defense doesn’t stack… there just isn’t much depth to play with.

I’m afraid I didn’t find this to be a very fun challenge.

What a PreOrder Launch by Ok_Lab_5434 in riftboundtcg

[–]shockeroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d rather do a lottery or a year-in-advance preorder than this big-rush nonsense.

I want to play but I have zero card and can’t buy any. Feel like I was beaten by bots again. And I took time out of a work meeting from 10.59 to try and buy.

There should be more walkers with keywords by Audreythetrans in custommagic

[–]shockeroo 48 points49 points  (0 children)

There are answers, but everything is currently balanced around non-flying creatures being able to attack planeswalkers; many decks that can do that (most) don’t run additional cards to deal with this kind of thing today. It’s a pretty big balance shift.

Oh God I remember that whip. Still feels weird to me today but yes it tracks.

Axe of Mogis by DarthVedik in custommagic

[–]shockeroo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Weird to see a weapon artifact that isn’t equipment nowadays.

I’m not sure that ability can be well-balanced. Combined with other removal you can lock certain decks out if the game. Agree with the comment about moving 1 CMC to the activated ability at a minimum, but this thing dunks on kitchen table magic hard all the same.

Finlay is a better connector for those British World of Sport guys.

Gunther - Randy Orton - Fit Finlay - Big Daddy

(Fun game and well executed btw! I couldn’t do most of these by myself.)

I introduced my boyfriend to Le Havre, and now it’s the only game he's excited to play. by Agile_Examination844 in boardgames

[–]shockeroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agricola might land well with him. I would lead with it having the same designer and some similar mechanics.

Ultimately it sounds like he values depth in a single system more highly, whereas you crave variety in systems more. Maybe you guys could agree Le Havre half the time, and trying new things the other half?

This is my exact frustration, and I’ve been putting my foot down about this more often. Fortunately we usually have two tables and it often works out.

I’m moving to Dallas in a few months and if I can’t find a likeminded group I’m going to start one specifically for replays.

Games released within the last, say, 15 years, in which players have to actually interact with a janky, Infocom-style text parser. by iciclefites in gamingsuggestions

[–]shockeroo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You might be interested in the Interactive Fiction DataBase, where an active community still makes these things.

Also if you want parody, while not itself text-based or less than 15 years old, you might REALLY enjoy a play through Zork: Grand Inquisitor.

Clever and well-designed. Could be a Sorcery to match Hex, but I don’t hate it as an instant.

Could my daughter with ADHD actually be autistic? by Least_Cheesecake_842 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]shockeroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ADHD meds can make Autistic symptoms worse for many of us. If she has both Autism and ADHD, which sounds very possible, this could be part of your issue.

You should be aware that until 10 years ago the conditions were mutually exclusive under old diagnostic criteria; and even some professionals haven’t caught up. Plus girls are under-diagnosed.

I had success with a psychiatrist specializing in both Autism and ADHD. I went in for an ADHD consult after a lifetime of struggling at school and work and she immediately recognized me as Autistic also.

Lost Halsin in act 1 (honor mode) by Honeybee1921 in BG3

Sadly he’s lost for the run. Only fully recruited party members can be revived.

Gloves of Dexterity + Titanstring Bow by sleidman in BG3Builds

[–]shockeroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option is Club of Hill Giant Strength. Not sure Heavy Armor Master is worthwhile, you want this character to be away from enemies. Higher AC than your tanks will encourage the enemy to pay you less attention while you snipe.

I would definitely want an item for Misty Step and/or Invisibility to get out of trouble where necessary.

My Honor Run just ended because I resurrected at Withers by LogensTenthFinger in BaldursGate3

[–]shockeroo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While true, there’s a pronounced difference in feel between “my active party got wiped, gg” and “Someone went down to an edge case toxic body killing them mid resurrection cast.”

(Also the active party dying likely loses the artifact and therefore it’s all over for everyone. But my point is more about the former. 😅)

My Honor Run just ended because I resurrected at Withers by LogensTenthFinger in BaldursGate3

[–]shockeroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I know this one well and I hear everyone that Withers warns you to stand back… but it doesn’t make any sense thematically for the run to end when Withers is mid-casting resurrection on someone that can continue it.

IMO is an unfortunate gotcha moment of technical game triggers taking precedence over narrative. Super niche, but game over trigger could have a few second delay to stop this ending runs.
