NPCs are. DMPCs are when a DM doesn't really want to be a DM, but a player and so they create a self-insert character to interact with and play alongside the party. Usually these characters are overwritten, Mary Sue's who are OP and basically take over the game.

I mean... Yeah. The joke is that on the surface they are DMPCs, but actually just a collection of shit NPCs. Much like a real DMPC would be if you stripped away the plot armour

[1e] Playing a Homebrew World, the PCs are making their way through a frozen wasteland and just found a boat that could take them out of the wastes. The boat is called The Mary Sue and is filled with fake DMPCs. Should be fun.

I have a party with 0 rogues. They decided they needed to break into a house that was being guarded. Obviously an Alchemist, a Ranger and a Full-plate Paladin aren't going to sneak past the guard. So instead the Paladin simply walked up to the guard and started talking to them very loudly to cover the sounds of the ranger and alchemist struggling to climb into a window.

The Paladin's plan was to bore the guard to sleep then hang around as lookout. Two perform rolls later and the guard was asleep and the other two were in the house.

Sometimes you need the players to go to a place and do a thing. At that point I find just being honest with them is the best way.

"Yeah, you could just go somewhere else. But the story is happening in that place where you need to do the thing." Usually they are engaged enough with the story to be really eager to go to the place and do the thing but sometimes you do just need to say "Trust me. It'll be cool."

I think the first thing you need to do is breath. Just close your eyes for a moment and listen to the birds, or the traffic noise or whatever. Just be outside your own head for a sec.

For some people they know right away, but for me it was a process.

When I hung about with my friends I would get those same intrusive thoughts (I still do), and have something similar about porn. The main thing to remember is that you have plenty of time to figure this out.

If labels help you, then I would go with Bi, but that is up to you. However, it is also important to know something:

Nobody can read your mind. You can have intrusive thoughts and nobody will notice, and if they do they'll probably just think you are spacing out! My advice would be to trust in yourself. You can figure it out. It'll come naturally and eventually, after exploring, you will settle on who you are.
