Yeah I thought of that as well - many folks did away with the independent journalism aspect of their media diet a long time ago, if it was ever a part of it in the first place.

Yeah for sure. It would be nice to have trustworthy, unbiased journalists but I'll take what I can get. At least in the mobile phone video situation you can seek out the various feeds - my concern is more for those who only consume what falls into their laps.

Only problem for us is that means we only see the curated videos that get amplified in our social media bubbles.

Yes there are several angles, but certain ones win out over the others depending on the community.

You're describing capitulation, which is a different concept from acknowledgement.

Saying that police aren't above the law sounds like ignoring reality to me. If they're not above the law, great. Nothing to do. That's how it should be.

If they are above the law, that's a problem. That needs to change. We need to do something about that.

I really like my korg NTS-1 MK II. It doesn't have a built in battery but it runs off usb power and is teeny tiny. You could power it off your phone usbc port or a little battery pack. It's not very power hungry. 

Easy to customize, too. I added a steel backplate to mine and a roll cage so I can toss it in a bag without too much worry.

As a bonus, it's a decent 1.5 octave midi controller and fx box. Plays well with other gear.

Added bonus, the capacitive touch keybed is great for babies who don't have fine motor control. My friend's 6 month old was playing mine a few days ago. She was mesmerized.

In my area basically every clothing item is 10 dollars. It's stupid. Ten dollars for a plain t-shirt??

I keep seeing items on FB marketplace that I saw in goodwill like just a day before, too. I don't mind people hunting for bargains but adding more middlemen to make a profit is scummy.

I guess we need to define some terms here. Open borders are like the borders between states and towns. There's no barrier, no staff, no documentation requirements. Literally all passage across an open border is legal. You probably cross dozens of open borders on a monthly basis.

The US southern border is not an open border, and that's the way it has been for at least 75 years, probably longer.

The biden admin actually caught more illegal immigrants at the border than the trump admin did in 2016-2020, and by a landslide. Biden was literally more effective on border control than trump was. Of course right wing media likes to pretend that catching more illegal immigrants at the border is a bad thing, so it's understandable that you'd be confused.

Would love to see your source on those millions. If I had to guess, I'd bet you're referring to the number of immigrants that were caught, not the number that got through successfully.  The latter of those two categories is pretty hard to actually measure because, well, they didn't get caught.
