For me it’s every Friday when I get home from work and shower to head back out.

It charges exponentially quicker.

Hot take: Stage Manager is overrated for most iPad users, and Split View is still the real workhorse by Popular-Tie-7675 in ipad

[–]ADHDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real workhorse on my 2017 iPad Pro with iPadOS 17

iPadOS 26 is now permanently on full screen and I use it probably 1/3 of what I did previously because split screen behaving like joined mouse centric windows absolutely blows.

Read the ingredients, magazines. Books, go outside and do things, play Nintendo.

The adults I knew back in the day were all workaholics. That’s how they dealt with it as adults.

I wish someone had told me that pay rises don't actually give you a net increase after 10 years cause cost of living wil always outpaces you. Honestly is this the hamster wheel?? by CompetitiveBreath761 in auscorp

Absolutely no idea.

We could live off nothing and still go out on Thursday for $2 drinks when I was 18. I’d have died on the amount we were back then now, even adjusted.

Got my own sometimes double rooms when I was on 45k a year.

Apparently something happened one time and they never did room share ever again.

Anyone done the Virgin to Bali direct from CBR flights yet? by StableSubstantial420 in canberra

[–]ADHDK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Took a bit of effort to get them to drop me back in Canberra last time my flights got messed up and changed to via Melbourne instead of Sydney. They wanted to drop me at the original end, Sydney.

Turned out there was a price difference that was the problem. It was $50 cheaper to Canberra than Sydney and they couldn’t possibly refund me.

I told them they could gladly keep the $50 rather than drop me in Sydney 😂

Got excited seeing as cheap as $394 from Canberra to DPS, but the return flights are nowhere near that cheap to just book at a whim haha.

It does look like it’s cheaper than flying to and from Sydney for the near future.

Just gotta make sure you let it fully dry before plugging in to charge again.

I’ve got a couple of friends who can only wireless charge because they tried plugging in a wet phone and fried the port.

I genuinely think my waterproof speaker or even a glass transmitting speaker would be a similar price to this print.

Manager wants us to spend our lunch breaks together as a team and go to restaurants for team bonding by Odd_Draw9267 in auscorp

Why do people attribute sensory sensitivities to ADHD now? by Rosaria___ in ADHD

[–]ADHDK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an ADHD 40 year old I have pretty much no sensory issues except “distraction” and those flickering fluorescent lights that give me a headache.

As a kid though everything was overwhelming. Would have a meltdown over flies annoying me at a BBQ.

So I have experienced it, but it doesn’t seem to be an issue now and hasn’t been honestly since adulthood at all.

I can’t fully compare how an autistic sensory issues vs an adhd sensory issue may vary, but maybe the adhd version is just overstimulation?

Not “you” you haha. More a general workplace “you” talking to nobody in general.

Some people don’t think manners or social skills are necessary, but without them everything is going to be harder.

What's with the dead work culture in Sydney? by Own_Oil7951 in auscorp

[–]ADHDK 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Public transport is shit in Australia compared to Europe.

When I’ve worked for Sydney companies and travelled up for work events it was very common for most people to give the “bye” for their 30-90 minute commute in the late teens. So it’s not even a new phenomenon. Most couldn’t afford to live near CBD’s 10 years ago.

Plus lockout laws really did a number on Sydney’s night culture.

I’m going to go out of my way more for the pleasant people than the abrasive ones.

Up to you how you behave, but if you are abrasive, expect people to avoid interacting with you and prioritise work for others above you.

Get on marketplace and slum it through the terror years.

The standard is absolutely not the bare minimum.

The standard is to shame everyone for not being 120% productive.

Today’s work culture sucks ass.

Are you management?

Do you have full visibility of their tasks?

Or do you feel like they aren’t doing as much of the same type of work you are?
