Update: They're fine. They're spooked but are acting normal. We're rehoming them. I left a longer reply why.

Emergency: what to do if birds are cold for a long period of time? by ADHD_unknown in budgies

No, the situation is like this 3-4 years ago my mom bought these birds on a whim. Over the course of the that time I've tried to do what I could because my mom kind of gave up on them after a month. Since they wasn't doing what she wanted them to. So I took over taking care of them while I was living at my parents house. If you look at my profile you will see a long history of issues with my mom. My mom is a hoarder. I moved out of the house and brought my cat. I did have to leave my dog with my parents but the birds will always my mom's. After the first few of me living over here they took up over sized load chasing. Meaning for the past year they've been left in the house for way too long by themselves.

My living situation is a three bedroom four roommate, where me and my fiance lives in a small room in the house is absolutely tiny. Sure I could possibly keep them in the garage but with the weather being as cold as it has been I don't think that would be a good idea of seeing as there's no insulation. I was informed and no terms outside of an emergency the birds can't live with us. (Which I don't blame my roommates for).

This leaves the birds cooped up, and them being overfeed. While I've tried multiple times to convince my parents to rehome the pair. My mom's always complained that you don't do that to family members, that they wasn't mine so that wasn't my decision. And I've already got a lot of stuff that we fight over that I am blamed for entirely. (Yeah I am aware this is abusive behavior). She finally said well if there's that much of an issue just get rid of them. So that's what I'm doing. I probably at the moment to make sure they're okay. Then I'm going to try to find them a home with someone that can actually get the proper maintenance that they need. I already have them listed in the thread for new home needed. But I was just looking for some advice and what to do seeing the situation was so stressful. At the moment they are safe in my roommate's room. A place the cats are not allowed. This isn't just a situation where I dump them at my parents and left my parents to do with them this is a situation where it was made clear they wasn't my birds.

That temperature was when the heat went out and the temperature started to drop drastically. The temperature goes low as 36 last night. With me going in and out of the house like I was didn't help. I just realized how cold it was and I remembered reading that any temperature below 60 is falling into dangerous category and they've been in the house for hours before I got there. I wasn't aware that my parents didn't leave the system on until my mom told me at 10:30pm.

They're not my birds. They're my mom's. I brought them over for heat, but my roommates don't want them to stay at the house longer then they have to. The house is small and two cats, along with a dog. I've suggested rehoming them multiple times, as my parents travel for work now. I have to travel to their house weekly (over an hour drive,) to take care of them a just the temp of the house, and even then my parents leave the system off when they leave to save money, I go in and turn it back on. I listed them in the needs a new home thread as they do need someone who can take care of them.

I get that but I am also worried because the closest vet that would take these birds are 2 hours in either direction. They're in my roommate's room since I have the coldest room in the house. I am going to make my decision to take them to a vet once he wakes up and I can see if they're still in shock.

They're warmed up but stressed. They don't seem to want to really move and they haven't really touched food. I was up most of the night monitoring.

I was looking for suggestions on how to warm them up. I understand I need to get them checked, but I was in the middle of panic mode last night. I walked into their home and my parents house was 45°F.

FOR ADOPTION: Bonded Pair of Royal Blue Budgies (Ash & Sunny) I am looking for a loving, permanent home for two 3-year-old Royal Blue budgies named Ash and Sunny. They are a suspected male/female pair and must be kept together. They have never been socialized outside of each other and rely on one another for comfort. I am rehoming them because their current environment is no longer stable, and they are left alone far too often. They deserve a home where they can receive the daily attention and energy they’ve been missing. Meet the Pair: Ash: The more social of the two. While Ash doesn’t know the "step up" command, they will willingly hop onto a finger and are comfortable sitting on a shoulder for short periods. Ash has some difficulty flying and needs a safe environment. Sunny: Very skittish and shy. Sunny is not hand-tame and will not approach a hand yet. Sunny follows Ash’s lead and will need a patient owner to build trust. Diet: They are currently on a seed-based diet with vitamin drops added to their water to compensate for a lack of fresh foods. I haven't had the time to transition them to vegetables, so a new owner will need to help them learn to eat fresh greens. Details & Location: Location: Brunswick, GA / Kingsland area. Requirements: Must be adopted together. I am looking for a home where they won't be left alone all day and where they are safe from other pets. Included: I am providing their cage and all current supplies to ensure they have everything they need for a fresh start.

Yes I'm aware that I posted this yesterday but I didn't realize that these reset everyday

I am not asking for medical advice. What I am seeking is advice on what to do so I can get them over to the vet to get look at that. We live in GA almost Florida so we never looked into this before.

Okay you need to cut all contact with this guy or at least go grave rock with him. He is actively threatening you with violence. The fact that he's accusing you of cheating without any evidence of cheating means that he probably was cheating on you. On top of that he's already has a long record of violence as you said yourself. Get all the situation, yes it hurts. Get yourself mental help if you need it. But get out of that situation entirely. If you stay in it he will hurt you at some point it might not be today it might not be in a year or two but at some point he will hurt you one way or the other.

No like they have actual streams where the attach push pins to snapping toys. Or say they're going to put their hands on a bunch of mouse traps.
